Derek needed to get home. He had been called into the hospital for a surgery that they couldn't find anybody else to do and now that it was done he needed to get home. Meredith was with Cristina at his house, still recovering, but still, Derek wasn't there with her. He finished filling out the paperwork, closed the file and handed it to the nurse before taking off his lab coat and heading down the hall to leave. It was time to get home to Meredith.

"You got ants in your pants? I haven't seen you move that fast since Mary McGordon cornered you at that party in our backyard." Mark Sloan chuckled, pulling a pen out of his pocket.

"Oh...Hey Mark..." Derek groaned, throwing his coat over his shoulder.

"Your patient just lived after getting shot in the face, don't look so thrilled."

"I'm thrilled...ecstatic."

"Are you really?" Mark replied.

"I'm glad he lived. I am...I just have somewhere else to be." Derek sighed.

"Oh right...Big Grey."

"Cristina was coming over. I have to make sure they didn't trash my house."

"Your going to hover over Meredith." Mark rolled his eyes as they walked towards the elevator.

"I'm not hovering." Derek groaned, walking faster when he saw the elevator doors open.

"Then why are you rushing home? She's a grown girl."

"Because I promised her that I'd be home as soon as I could."

"And I am sure she's surviving. Yang is there."

"Which means they're probably drunk on tequila and she's trying to make s'mores again."

"Dude why aren't you at home? Big Grey on tequila and pain killers...we haven't seen something like that in years."

"The tequila thing was a joke." Derek rolled his eyes.

"That's a show I miss."

"She's not a show."

"Tell that to the rumor mill around here." Mark sighed, as they got off of the elevator. "Little Grey told off some people who were saying she chased Brad to Hawaii."

"What?" Derek groaned, looking over to Mark.

"Grey was here...then she went home to heal." Mark pointed out. "All they know is her husband beat her."

"It's a good thing she's not going to be back for a while." Derek sighed, checking his cell phone to see if she had called.

"Of course Lexie tries to point out it was a freak accident...that doesn't make the story interesting so people tend to forget that when they tell the story."

"The only thing that matters is she's getting better."

"How is the wife of our ex ass of a best friend doing?" Mark hated that man now. He didn't expect to have taken sides, let alone throw a punch over Meredith Grey but something had come over him.

"She's still sore but she's getting there." Derek replied, sending her a quick text message to let her know he'd be back soon. "She's confused."

"What is there to be confused about?"

"Our ex ass of a best friend also known as her husband."

"What's there to be confused about? The mans banging another woman on an island while you take care of her."
