"I swear." Meredith shook her head as she opened a banana in the produce aisle and began to eat it as the strolled along the rows of fresh fruit with Lexie. Both men were at work, tending to a domestic violence victim. "They should let you sample more food."

"Can you...do that?" Lexie laughed, as Meredith took another bite of the banana.

"I don't know."

"They'll look down at you're stomach and it'll be okay."

"Free pass." Meredith giggled.

"Which I'll probably never get."

'Why do you say that?" Meredith frowned.

"I think Mark's going to break up with me." Lexie sighed.

"What?" Meredith gasped. "No...I don't think that."

"He's been acting strange...gets out of websites when I walk up...whispers on the phone. I should have known when I started something with him."

"You started something with him at my wedding to Brad."

"And I knew his...reputation."

"We all did."

"He's seeing some one else." Lexie sighed, picking up a box of something and looking at the packaging before putting it back on the shelf.

"Lexie...I'm sure he's not." Meredith knew what it was like and she didn't get the feeling that was the case at all.

"Then he is he being so...secretive?"

"Well...I don't know." Meredith replied, opening the pack of cupcakes.

"Can I stay with you and Derek until I find a place?"

'Well yeah....but I'm sure Mark doesn't want you to move out."

"I doubt he wants me and his new...whatever she is staying there." Lexie sighed, following Meredith's lead and taking a cupcake for herself.

"Have you asked him?"

"No...not exactly.

"Maybe you should ask him."

"I should probably pack my things first."

"Or maybe you should talk to him first." Meredith replied.

"The other day he came home with a shopping bag...but I could see another bag sticking out of it. Probably presents for her." Lexie dropped the cupcake wrapper in the shopping cart.

"Do you think it was for you?"

"Wouldn't he have given it to me if it was for me?"

'Well..."

"Exactly."

"I still think you should talk to him."

"I'll try." Lexie sighed.

"I mean sometimes when Derek is being weird and secretive...he's just tired or has something up his sleeve."

"I guess that would explain the hiding things."

"I mean...I'm sure it's fine."

"I hope so." Lexie sighed. "If not...I'm going to be living with you."

"Lexie..." Meredith giggled, before reaching for a bag of grapes.

"I'm serious!"

"Okay...alright."
