Naked time had been pretty much of a failure due to the fact that all Meredith could think about and talk about was breadsticks from the small pizza place in the corner of the food court. But after showering, getting dressed and driving to the mall, it took just one bite for Meredith to feel sick and toss the food in the garbage before deciding that a walk around might help her feel better.

Every time Derek looked down Meredith's hand was firmly on her stomach, the other linked with his and it never failed to make Derek smile. Just a few weeks before she had been saying how she didn't want the baby and now they were arguing over whether it was going to a boy or a girl and whether or not it was too early to start buying things for the nursery.

Meredith nearly cringed as they passed the maternity store and Derek tried not to laugh, just looking forward to the days when her stomach would be huge and she would be barely able to walk before their child was born. Every thing seemed to be perfect. "I told you I could have made better breadsticks."

"Could we not talk about bread...oh God." She grimaced.

"Sorry..." Derek chuckled, holding out the cup of Sprite he had bought her to help settle her stomach.

"Mmm...thanks." Meredith grabbed the cup, sipping on the straw almost as soon as he handed it to her.

"You're sure you don't want to go home?"

"We're already here." Meredith shrugged.

"Alright." Derek replied, taking the cup of soda back from her as they passed a maternity to store.

"Look at that...fat whores...stupid...nobody ever looks that good..." Meredith groaned, looking at the advertisement of a woman in a maternity swim suit.

"I guess it's a good thing you're not going to be pregnant in the summer." Derek tried not to laugh.

"Instead I'll be pregnant in the freakin' winter."

"And you can wear sweaters so nobody will even know you're pregnant."

"Nobody knows I'm pregnant now."

"I do."

"Only because of the boobs."

"And because I'm the one who did it."

"Yeah you did." Meredith laughed weakly.

"Do you want to stop and get new bras?" Derek asked, as they passed a lingerie shop.

"I...what's wrong with the ones I have?" She frowned, looking down at her chest, the chest that was pushed up because they had grown even more in the last week.

"There's...you know that I love them...it's just...they don't fit." He chose his words carefully, knowing that even if she loved him, anything he said could bug her now that she was pregnant.

"They...you hate them. I knew you thought they were mushy and gross and...you hate my boobs." She shook her head, swatting at his arm before walking quickly ahead of him.

"Meredith...Wait." Derek chuckled, walking quickly to catch up with her. "Hold on."

"What?"

"I can't..." He looked around to make sure nobody was too close by. "I love your boobs. I'd show you but...we're in the middle of a mall..."

"You didn't care about doing it in the bathroom of the Italian restaurant two weeks after we started sleeping together."

"That wasn't out in the open...where people can see."

"Fine...you win."

"I'll show you when we get home." Derek whispered in her ear, before kissing her cheek and then taking her hand.
