sixteen and a half | being sick is no fun

Jaden let out another gut-wrenching cough as Josh walked in giving him some soup. He was being extra cautious, he had a mask on, and a face shield. He handed the sick boy the soup, who was still denying he was ill.

"Jae, the soup will make your throat feel better. It's good for you, and it has the vitamins you need," he said, softly.

Jaden shook his head, "Josh, it's just fucking allergies!" He exclaimed, "I'm fine," this amused Josh. He found it funny, really. The boy was three shades paler, under his eyes and nose were red, and his nose was runny. "Stop fucking laughing at me!!!" He whined, this only made Josh laugh harder.

Jaden grunted but took the soup, even though his stomach was hurting, he was hungry. Josh smiled and left his room, and started walking back downstairs. He sighed looking at the mess that had accumulated. Sighing, the fluffy hair boy picked up a rag and started cleaning.

As he was washing the last dish, which it took him an hour to get to, Jaden better be happy, he heard a knock at the door. He quickly set the knife down and wiped his hands on his pants. He made it to the door and looked through the peephole. There was a tall blonde man, he had a bag and some flowers clad in his hands.

"Who the fuck?" He said. He opened the door and scaled the man up and down.

"D-Does Jaden Hossler live here?" He asked, there was a small blush present on his face.

Josh cocked his brow, defiantly gonna dish this with Nessa later. "Yeah he does, but he's sick right now." He crossed his arms over his chest, in an attempt to intimate the blonde man.

"Yeah I know," he sighed.

"Huh?"

"I'm Colson, aka, MGK. I'm working with him and at the last meeting, he sounded sick and was not doing hot. So I thought I'd come by and check up on him," he rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.

Josh smirked, whipped huh, "Okay he's upstairs. He should be eating his soup and if he's not please force that shit down his throat," he smiled. Colson's eyes grew wide, so harsh but he looked so nice saying that.

"If you don't mind me asking... Who are you?" He couldn't recall Jaden saying he lived with anyone else. But then again the two really haven't had any conversations.

"I'm Josh," he stated, "His other roommate."

"Other?"

"Yeah the three of us share this place, Bryce, the other one. Is on a trip right now, so you won't see him," he shrugged. Josh didn't know where Bryce was but he did know he was on a trip. Somewhere.

Colson nodded, "Noted." Josh let him in and told him where Jaden's room was. He then left the man and went back to the kitchen to clean and listen to music.

Colson smiled as he walked up the stairs, he had never done something like this for someone he's fucked. He was the guy to fuck and then duck.

One minute you could be crying from ecstasy from him, then next you're crying from being ghosted. But Colson knew that Jaden was different. There was something still lingering about him. Colson couldn't figure it out, even after many nights of drinking and smoking. Which usually brought him clarity.

He stopped in front of the second door on the right; Jaden's room. He brought his fist up to the door and knocked.

"Josh I ate the damn soup, and it was good," he heard, then a bunch of hacking after.

Colson opened the door and walked in, "Good so I don't need to force-feed it to you," he snarked.

Jaden sat up and saw the blonde don, "Why are you--cough-- here?" He quirked.

"You're sick and I wanted to take care of you. I asked Travis if he knew what you liked and he gave me a small list so I freeballed the rest. And I thought you might like flowers so flowers," he held out the bunch of blue hydrangeas to Jaden.

The boy's eyes brimmed with tears, "T-Thank you," he smiled. He knew Josh wouldn't go to this extent, but he nonetheless loved Josh. It just felt different with Colson.

Colson took his shoes off and sat next to the boy, "Anything for you," he wrapped an arm around his waist. Jaden opened the bag of snacks and he indeed saw some of his favorites.

They talked softly, mainly so Jaden wouldn't stress his throat too much. They started on movies and halfway Josh came in announcing he was going to Nessas.

"Have fun and be safe!"Jaden laughed.

Josh gave him the finger, "It's not like that," he rolled his eyes. Jaden nodded, but he didn't believe him. Josh left and Colson looked at Jaden.

"Long story." Colson only nodded, he didn't care enough right now to hear the story, but he would like to one day. They turned back to the move, Jaden cuddling up to Colson.

Halfway through the second movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jaden fell asleep on Colson.

"I got a jar of dirt! I got a jar of dirt! And guess what's inside it!" Colson chortled and then looked down. His eyes softened at the black-haired boy, he placed a kiss on his nose and pulled the cover over him.

"Sleep well my prince," he whispered.
