fifteen | are we making a song?

Jaden twirled a pen around in his fingers, thinking. He needed to think of lyrics for the first song, after the intro. He didn't even have a name for the album yet. Sighing, and giving up, Jaden leans back in his chair.

"Fuck," he groans. He leans his head on his desk and lets out another sigh. Suddenly his phone started going off.

His face contorted, "What?" He asked. It was Colson, for more context; it was eleven at night.

He sighed picking up the phone expecting the worst, "Yes?" He asked, hitting the green accept button.

"Oh wow, you answered!" He heard Colson gasp.

Jaden rolled his eyes, I don't have time for stupidity, "What Colson?" He asked, harshly.

He heard him chuckle, "Don't think you would be talking to someone your working with like that," he said. Jaden was confused. working with?

"Huh?" 

Then he heard another laugh, louder this time. "Trav didn't tell you, did he?" Colson asked. 

"If you're talking about making an album, then yes he told me that."

"That's--No. I mean he didn't tell you that you and I will be making a song together," Colson replied, his tone dripping with disappointment. Not with Jaden but the bald drummer. 

Jaden's face contorted, "What?!" He yelled. "We are making a song together?" He squealed, jumping up and down.

"Yeah we are, that's if you want to?" He took a pause, "Are we making a song?"

Jaden stopped jumping, did he really want to make a song with the MGK. He knew that people have a strong opinion on whether they like or dislike Colson. Jaden had his of course, but he won't share that yet. But he was a good writer and just really talented at making music. So it wouldn't hurt him, it would only benefit both of them.

"Jaden you there?" Colson said the line was still silent. 

"YES!!!" He heard the younger male scream. 

Colson smiled, more alone time with the boy. "Great!" He listed as Jaden ran around what he assumed was his room screaming. "So when do you wanna head to the studio?" Colson asked after the screaming stopped. 

He heard the younger take a breath, multiple breathes, "Uhm- on Friday? Because I'm busy tomorrow and Thursday," he panted, being out of breath. 

Colson nodded, "Great. how does six sound?" 

"Amazing."

"Okay, I might be a little late because I have to pick up my kid from school that day," Colson added. 

Jaden on the other side, nodded, "That's fine." They talked for a little while longer, just throwing out some ideas for what they would do the song about. Jaden felt content talking to Colson, he wasn't mad or confused. All his thoughts about his sexuality went out the window. 

Colson hung up and Jaden sighed. He closed his music notebook and flopped on his bed. He was fed up with thinking, he needed to watch something. He turned on his tv and opened Netflix. He scrolled through till he stopped on one show. Heartstopper. 

"Seems decent," he was well aware that it was a queer show. He thought it would be nice to try something out. Since the last queer or gay-- whatever you call it--thing he's read was Killing Stalking. But he didn't think that counted though. 

After watching a few episodes, Jaden found himself relating a lot to Nick. He felt the same way he did, not about Charlie, but Colson. He knew he was still attracted to girls, but there were boys too. 

Jaden sniffled at the screen watching the two boys hug in Charlie's bedroom. He wanted to be happy like that. But he knew he had to figure himself out first. He knew that it didn't matter if he labeled himself. He just thought it would be easier to come out publicly. If he ever did. 

He had a lot to think about before he could ever come out publicly. And coming out publicly would be the last thing. The first people would be his parents and close friends. He valued their opinions greatly, he loved and cared for them. 

Jaden's eyes began to droop, and he yawned. Tired. HE turned his tv off and then laid his head on his pillow.

I know this is shorter than normal. I'm sorry. It's been kinda hard to get back into writing rn.
