Chapter 22

Sunday we just hung out, watched a couple movies, cooked, and had a ton of sex. I know I know... I just can't get enough of him. But our perfect weekend came to an end. Now it's Monday.

We arrived at the front Company's  and we got out of the car. The security to the parking lot and parked it before we went in. I felt a little nervous and froze in my tracks. When Ivan noticed I stopped he turned around and looked confused. I don't know if we telepathically communicated but it seemed like he knew what was wrong. "Look at me," he said, holding my face in his hands. "I'm here with you and I won't let it get out of hand, ok... I love you" he said and pecked my lips. As soon as our lips connected the nervousness, shyness, and the feeling of being scared flew out of my head and all I could think about was this amazing god of a man. "I love you too" I say and offer a smile which he returns.

We start to walk in and Ivan reaches back for my hand which I hesitantly take. We start walking towards the hallway that leads to his office and the hallway that leads to mine. All I see is Camilla's jealous eyes and I feel so empowered to know that she can stop looking at my man with googly eyes. I send her a smile and walk confidently with my head up.

We stop walking at where my hallway and Ivan's Hallway meet. While everyone looks at us shocked. But at that moment I didn't care for some reason. I wasn't as scared as I felt like I was going to be. " I'll see you later, ok?" Ivan says and I smile at him and nod. Ivan leans in and kisses me and it's so gentle but passionate, I kiss him back but lean back, just because I feel better now that everyone knows doesn't mean I'm going to make out Infront of everyone. We break the kiss and look at each other, "I love you" I whisper to him so that only he can hear me. "I love you too" he says and we give each other one last look before we part ways and go to our office.

I was working on replying to some emails when the work phone started to ring. I pick the phone up. "Yes, Jasmine?" I ask, Jasmine is my secretary. She's been working for a few days. She handles my calls, meetings, and some files. Even though I didn't want to admit it at first, having Jasmine here has been helping me so much. "Ms. Carter, Mr. Hayes is here and he would like to talk to you" she said and I just sighed, "Tell him to come in, thank you Jasmine" I say and put the phone down" I say, and place a strand of hair behind my ear. The door opens and I look up and I see Liam and give him a smile which he returns.

"Hello Beautiful" he says and I slightly move in my chair when he says that. "Hi Liam" I say ignoring it. "Is there something that you need me to do, or is there something wrong." I say and he sits in the chair across mine. "No actually I needed to talk to you" He say and I nod in confusion. "How long have you and Ivan been together?" he says.

Ok yes that caught me off guard, I knew he was going to ask that but not so soon. "I-uh for a while now" I say and I get up from my seat. "Listen Liam I know that...um you're just curious but I really am not the type to talk about my personal life with others, I'm sorry" I say as I walk over to the window avoiding eye contact with Liam until the last bit of my sentence I turned around and he got up and threw his arms up saying he wasn't going to push it. "Ok, ok" he says and he started to ask me questions about the project and I answered him.

About 20 minutes later of Liam asking stupid questions just to talk to me. I say stupid because its questions he knew the answers to because he as an architect should have learned this in the second semester of the first year class. Anyway it's been a hell of a long day. I have not left my office in fear of getting asked any questions. I didn't feel intimidated by the situation until every time someone came into my office they looked at me weirdly like if I didn't deserve to be here. I received a call from Alexandra and Waverly asking to eat lunch together, which I said yes to. I really needed to talk to my best friends. I haven't told them about Ivan and it's been killing me.

I look over and see that it's 5 pm so I decided I didn't want to stay longer since technically I can leave at 5. I started grabbing some things and putting them in their place. I decided to take some work home just in case I want to get work done. I put some files in my bag. I was about to order an Uber when the phone started ringing. I looked up at the ceiling, closed my eyes and sighed from the exhaustion.

"Yes, jasmine" I say "Ms. Carter, I was about to head home but I wanted to let you know that Mr. Lombardo is out here, would you like me to tell him to go in?" she asked. "Yes please. Thank you Jasmine I'm also heading home so have a good night see you tomorrow" I say "you too Ms. Carter see you tomorrow" she says and hangs up. I looked at the door which started to carefully open and Ivan walked in.

"I haven't seen you since this morning," he says concerned and I give him a fake smile to dismiss his thoughts. "Yeah sorry I just been...busy" I said, even though I knew he didn't buy it he didn't push me to give him an explanation. "Are you heading home right now?" he asked, looking at my bag on the table. "Yeah I'm tired so I was going to order an Uber and head home," I said, getting my phone out to order an uber. "No, no, beautiful, I'm taking you home" he said and I nodded and smiled.
