Chapter 69

Charlotte's POV

I started to stir awake and felt Ivan's arm wrapped around me. I looked back up to him and he gave me a smile. "Hey" he said and I hugged him and kissed him gently on the lips. "I want to go home, can we?" I whispered and he nodded. "The doctors said that there isn't any... permanent damage so if you feel comfortable going home we can" he said looking away at the word permanent.

I got up and walked to the bathroom to change while Ivan went to sign the discharge papers. I noticed that there was a hoodie here for me. I guess it's because of the ripped blouse. I put on my jeans, hoodie and heels. I walked out, I looked over at Ivan and noticed how puzzled he looked so I had to speak, I had to ask him.

"Does it change the way you see me now?" I said, catching his attention. He looked over to me confused and responded. "What?" he said and I sighed and walked over to the bed, sitting next to him. "What...What happened with Jackson does it change the way you see me?" I sighed , closing my eyes, scared for his answer. I felt his hand touch my cheek and I opened my eyes.

"Of course not. It wasn't your fault. It just upsets me how he and Camilla can mess up the biggest and happiest moments in our lives" he said, sighing. "I don't want to let it affect me. Yes it happened and it's constantly replaying in my head since I woke up but... I don't want to go back to living in fear" I said and he nodded. "I don't want to give them the satisfaction of seeing me down again" I whispered and he smiled at me. He leaned closer to me, kissing my lips gently and whispering against them, "I love you" he said and I smiled. "I love you" I said.

We left the room and I spoke to our families and explained that I was okay while we walked outside to the parking lot. I walked over to Justin who instantly wrapped his arms around me, embracing me in a protective hug. I sighed and smiled up at him. "Are you really okay?" he worriedly asked me and I nodded. "It's mentally painful, yes. But I'm not going to let it control my life" I said and he proudly smiled at me.

"So when were you going to tell me about my niece or nephew" he said and my smile immediately turned into a big grin. "I'm pregnant" I chuckled and he laughed, embracing me again. I turned around and looked at mine and Ivan's parents.

"You guys are going to be grandparents" I said, tears brimming my eyes. My mom and Pearl both rushed to me crying and hugged me. I chuckled and hugged them both back. We pulled away smiling and Ivan came next to me slipping his arm around my waist leaning down to kiss me on the lips. We pulled away and I smiled at him. I looked over to my brother and Abby and spoke.

"Hey, can I still watch Jay for the night?" I asked and they looked at me worriedly. "Are you sure you don't want to rest?" Justin said and I smiled and nodded my head yes. Justin looked over to Abby and she nodded her head yes smiling at me. I ran to her and hugged her. "See this is why you're my favorite sister in law" I said and we all laughed.

"Hey, what about me?" I heard someone behind me say and I looked over confused. When I saw who it was I smiled instantly throwing my arms around her. "Violet!" I said and she giggled. "Hey sister in law" she said and I smiled. I haven't seen Violet for the past week and a half because she went on a little trip with some friends so I was so happy to see her again. "How are you feeling?" she asked a little more seriously, I shrugged smiling and she smiled back.

"I'm okay" I said and she hugged me back. I looked over at Ivan and he spoke. "Violet here doesn't know yet" he said smiling. I looked at Violet smiling and she looked at me filled with confusion. I pulled away and walked over to Ivan hugging him sideways. I looked at Violet while one of Ivan's arms was looped around my waist and one of my hands and his free hand rubbed my belly. Violet's eyes widened in realization and she squealed.

"You are going to be an aunt" I said and she hugged me and Ivan tightly. We all spoke for a few minutes and then we left. I took a small nap on the way home and woke up to Ivan carefully placing me on the bed. I smiled at him and he kissed my cheek.

"Sorry for waking you" he whispered and I shook my head smiling. "Why do I feel so tired?" I asked and he responded, "they had to give you a small amount of sedatives to calm you so your heart could stabilize" he said and I looked at him and placed my hand on my belly. "Won't it affect the baby?" I anxiously and worriedly asked him. He shook his head No and continued to talk. "Because of the small amount of medication they gave you, you still felt tired because of how emotionally exhausting the day was" he said and I sighed relieved. I picked my phone up and checked the time. It was 7pm so I got up from the bed.

"I-I want to shower... can you... shower with m-me?" I asked Ivan timidly. Just because I'm trying to move on from what happened today doesn't mean I'm not still shaken up about it. He smiled and nodded. We went to the bathroom, we turned on the shower, we slipped out of our clothes and went inside. The warm water was making all my muscles loosen from how tense they've been the past couple of hours. After we washed our hair and body we just stayed under the water embraced in each other's arms.
