Chapter 30

The doctor said that I'm fine. I asked if the surgery was going to leave a big mark and he said that it was going to get small and eventually you would only tell if you were focused on it. The incision wasn't big anyways it was like 3 inches long. I also asked him other questions and he said that I can start doing some of my normal day to day activities just to not push myself so much. And yes I did. I asked him if I could have sex and he said yes. He said to just take it slow but what exactly is slow.

We got back home and I offered Jasmine something to eat and drink. We ended up ordering some Thai curry soups from a restaurant nearby.

"So Jasmine I wanted to talk to you about your job position and salary" I said to her while taking a sip of water. "I want you to be my personal assistant not just my work assistant, of course I will increase your salary" I said to her and she looked at me with shocked eyes. "You can deny it if you don't want the position" I said to her and she immediately started to nod. "No Ms. Carter I would really like this position... but what would I do?" she said and I gave her a smile.

"Everyday for now you will come here at 10 am instead of the office you will handle making my appointments, meetings, and reservations. You will make some phone calls for me and respond to some emails, you will handle some paperwork. I know it sounds like a lot, trust me I know but I don't ask for much, I just need help getting around and with other things your salary will increase by 45%" I said to her and she widened her eyes and I smiled at her. "You are the only one that doesn't see me like someone im not" I said to her admitting a question I know she was thinking she was thinking why me? But that's the truth she is the only one who doesn't treat me as less or judge me. "Because I know who you are Ms. Carter and I have no right to judge you," she said, giving me a smile.

We continued to talk and she signed the paperwork. Obviously I talked to Ivan about this before actually asking Jasmine, he agreed immediately he said that he would take care of all the papers in the company and all.

After talking for a while we worked and then I gave her the afternoon off. I've been home for a while alone so I decided to workout for a little bit since the doctor said it would be good, so that my body can strengthen itself back up. I changed into some leggings and a sports bra and went outside to workout. I Decided to take it easy. I don't want to hurt myself. I worked out for a while, I looked at the time and it was 2:30. Ivan was supposed to be back by now but maybe something came up.

I decided to go shower and take a nap. I was really tired from the workout and the appointment because of the surgery. My body seems to get tired easier lately. I closed my eyes and quickly my body relaxed and my eyes drifted away into a deep slumber.

Ivan's POV

I was parking my car in my driveway and I started to walk quickly into the house. I looked at my phone and saw that it was 5:30. I noticed there was no other car which meant that Jasmine was gone, shit was Charlotte home alone for long what if something happened. I shook those thoughts away before I got even more scared and opened the door and walked in. "Charlotte?" I shouted inside but I heard no response. "Baby?" I said and I heard no response once again. I started to walk upstairs and walked into the bedroom worriedly.

There she was, the most beautiful person in the world, she looked so peaceful sleeping there on her side hugging a pillow. I walked closer to her and sat on the edge of the bed and took my shoes off. I removed the pillow she was hugging and she stirred awake, I gave her a smile and kissed her forehead. I replaced the pillow with my body so she could hug me instead.

"Hey handsome" she said, wrapping her arms around my torso and placing her head on my chest. "Hey butterfly, I'm sorry I didn't come at noon. I was stuck in meetings all day love" I said, hugging her back and kissing her forehead. "It's ok, my love... I'm glad you're back... can you take a nap with me? I'm really tired" she said drifting off to sleep again, I closed my eyes, relaxed my body and soon fell asleep too.

Charlotte's POV

I woke up and looked at the man next to me and smiled. I can't wait for this to be our life, to wake up in each others arms. To see his beautiful features every morning and what makes it better is... he's mine.

I can't believe we slept all afternoon and through the night.  I looked over his body and I felt the need to jump his bones right there. I started to unbutton his shirt and caress his abs. The doctor did say yes to sex, and that's the only confirmation I need.
