"Taerin Dominique Kim ditched her supposed to be fiancée, Dae Han Shin - Heir of JYN Corporations."

Taerin harshly threw the newspaper on her bed and plopped herself on her couch. She sighed.

Can't her problem just end right there and then?

Actually, she never had a problem before. Everything was damn fine before. She doesn't care if she'll marry a stranger. She already accepted her role.

Yet Seungcheol suddenly showed up, making everything totally crazy.

Now her name was being dragged everywhere and that headline news was the end of her. That ended her only resort to help her family. She just didn't reject one wealthy successor, but two― within just a consecutive week.

How was that going for her?!

She massaged her temple because she feels like her head would explode from thinking too much.

She can clearly remember the conversation she had with Seungcheol. That man was unbelievable. She can't believe that he could kidnap her just to get what he wanted and he even bribed her Mom and Aunt just to make her agree to his demands.

She's not stupid enough to believe his words. Her aunt would never give the company just like that.

His attitude is beyond the devil's point. Did he change that much?

It's not just him who changed through time, Taerin. Even you - you changed.

She heard a knock on her door and then it opened.

"Taerin-ah, are you okay?" Her Mom walked to her with a worried face after seeing her in that position.

"I'm fine, Mom." She sits properly and faces her. She didn't like making her Mom worried. She already got her hands full. She doesn't want to add up to her worries.

Her Mom massaged her head, putting her hair in place. "I'm sorry." She then said making her creased her forehead. "I didn't tell you about Seungcheol."

Her Aunt and Mom knew about the talk she had with Seungcheol. Taerin wondered if Seungcheol was always talking to her. Since it seems like they often see each other. Besides, the two women are not the kind of people who talks to just someone else.

"I just really don't understand why you and Aunt agreed with him. You know I was getting engaged. Dae Han can help us." It's not like Seungcheol is the last resort.

"Yes, yes. I know he will," Her Mom agreed. But Taerin could hear a 'but' in her silence.

"But you don't trust him." She continued her sentence.

Her Mom sighed as she took her hands and held them between her palms. "You know, Taerin, for the longest time I've been running the company with you Dad, I learned that there are two kinds of people you'll meet in the long run.; the one who deceives people and the one that was being fooled. In our world, it will teach you not to give your trust to anyone so easily. Some, learn that the hard way. And I hope you won't."

She looked at her Mom. "Then, do you trust Seungcheol?" She asked.

The lady nodded and smiled. "I've watched Seungcheol and his brothers grow up. They were like my kids." Her eyes soften as she talks. Taerin knew it was because it was her Mom's dream to have a son of her own but she was just an only child.

Yet her Mom smiled again and held her hand tighter. "That's enough for me to judge his character. I know enough that he won't betray me."

"But I don't trust him, Mom." She trusted him once, too. But what did she get in return?
