69. Tara Is Ready To Go

The next day Tara was the one who got up first, because she was way excited to get the job in being a stylist. She didn't study college due to her passion. She told me she wants to be the famous stylist in Hollywood, that's why she did her best in being a stylist to one of the famous salons in New York but she didn't get the chance to be famous. That's why, this time she would do her best to achieve that goal.

Tara once told me that, everyone should never give up in doing their best to achieve their dreams, because she's pretty sure that you won't regret it.

I was wiping the counter top when Tara is ready to go out the house.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you?" I asked

"Yeah! I'm already 20. I can handle myself" Tara smiled

"No! It's just that I'm afraid you might get lost" here goes the side of me who is totally caring

"Nonsense! Do you think, I can't read signs and ask the people around me?" She replied

"Whatever! Take care" I smiled

"Okay, bye" we both wave goodbye

The door closes and I'm left all alone in our appartment. I sighed heavily and wash my hands. I sat on the edge of my bed, got my phone, and check for any messages but there was none.

Niall's P.O.V

Right now, I am sitting in my office tapping my glass table waiting for any news from my mom. I just hope Diana shows up. Suddenly, I heard an abrupt knock on th door.

"Come in" I said weakly and I let my face fell on my arms that were placed on top of my glass table

"Excuse me, sir" my secretary spoke and I look up to her

My secretary, Jen, is the person who tells me about my schedules. Of course, she is my secretary and secretaries does all that work. She has a long, black hair and she's an Asian. Jen has black, round eyeglasses.

"What?" I asked supporting my face with my hands while I look at her

"You have a meeting with Mr. Peter McGarreth around 10 and another meeting with Mr. Jarred Condit around 3 in the afternoon" Jen says

"I want you to cancel all of my meetings" I said with my strong voice

"Sir, but your meeting with Mr. McGarreth is really important, because it's about their plan in investing at the Horan Inc." my nerd secretary explains "And your meeting with Mr. Condit is important as well" she added

"I said cancel all of them, just reschedule them" I turn my face away from Jen

"But sir....." She is so annoying

"I don't want to repeat myself" I shouted but still not looking at her

"Yes! Sir"

Jen leaves my office and I'm seriously not in the mood to think about business. All that I am thinking about right now is my girlfriend. I look at the clock and I watch the hand as it moves from time to time.

Urgh! I grab my new iPhone and dialed mom's number. After 4 rings, she finally answered my call.

"Hello?" Mom answers the call

"Mom, did she come to your office?" I asked politely

"Honey, please don't let your anger out, okay? Niall, your girlfriend didn't come to work. Diana did not show up" her voice is sad

"Okay!" I hang up

Mom said that I should think about it first before reflecting it through my actions and feelings.

All of a sudden, tears just started streaming down my face.

Where is she? Where could my girlfriend possibly be?

I got my coat from the hook, car keys, phone, and left my office. I went in the lift and press the letter G button. The lift started moving down and after a few minutes, the door slides open. I got out and went straight to the parking area.

I press the unlock button and the door of my Maserati unlocks. I went in and placed the key in the ignition. I sighed heavily, wipe my tears, and drove away. I'm driving to Diana's house right now. I plug my phone on the speaker and played See You Again by Wiz Khalifa.

It's been a long day without you, my friend. And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. We've come a long way from where we began. Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again. When I see you again.

I keep on replaying the song, until I reach Diana's front yard. The engine off my car stopped and I went out of the car.

Could I face Diana right now?

Oh! C'mon Niall, don't be a chicken. You just got to face your beautiful girlfriend, say sorry, kiss her, and go home together. It's that easy.

I took a deep breathe and started walking towards their front door. I took another breathe when my face is an inch closer to the wooden door. I made four, loud knocks on the door, but no one even shouted 'I'll get that'. So I waited for a while and knock again. No one open the door.

Hmmm that's weird.

I look at the windows at the second floor and it's securely closed with the curtain covering them. I decided to just peek on the window at the first floor and no one's inside. Eh? Where could they be?

I tried to twist the door knob but it won't turn, because it is lock.

Great! Now they aren't home. Maybe, I'll just have to wait for them. I sat on the door step, facing their not-so-well trimmed lawn. Yes, it's not trimmed well, because some weeds are visible.

It has been 2 hours and they aren't home yet. Am I wasting my time here? Suddenly, one of their neighbors came out of their house and I decided to approach him.

"Excuse me mister, did you notice the girls that live there leave or did you even see them in the house?" I asked pointing at Diana and Tara's house

"Ah! You mean the beautiful young ladies named Diana Rickards and Tara Evans?" The old man asked

"Yes! Yes!" I was happy to know that he knew their names

"Actually, Tara is the only one left there, because as what I've heard Diana is living with her boyfriend which I don't know where. But one day, Diana visited Tara and left. After that day, I did not see anyone in there" the old man says

"When is that day exactly?" I asked politely

"It was Friday. Yes, it was friday" the man scratches his chin

"Thank you!" I smiled

When I turn around, the smile that was plastered on my face vanished. So, Diana really left me. She is gone. I went in my car and drove back home.
