89. Guards Up

I finish collecting my stuff and started walking towards the door, not minding Austin at all. If I mind him, it will just make the space around us filled with awkwardness, and I certainly don't want that to happen.

I open the door and Austin's hands immediately push it. I jump a little, because he's action is totally shocking and I don't know why he did that. He locks the door and blocks it with his body.

"What are you doing?" I asked, looking at him with wide eyes.

He did not reply.

My skin started forming goosebumps and my skin hair is slowly rising. I don't know why, but I got this feeling that I need to put my guards up even though, Austin and I have work for a long time and we knew each other for a long period of time.

Slowly, I started to walk backwards until the end of my spine hits the long table, while I do that, Austin's watching my every move. I placed my stuff on the table and grip the edge of the long table. Austin starts to walk towards me with his hands in his pocket.

Austin stop an inch from me and lowers his head to study my face, he then place both of his hands on the table locking me into somehow a body cage, not just some other body cage but his body cage. My grip on the table is starting to grow harder and I bet my palm will have a red mark on it.

"Why are you ignoring me?" His breathe went straight in my nose and that minty smell filled my lungs.

I did not bother to answer his question but let tears form around my eyes. My legs are shaking and Austin's right hand travelled to my cheek, which made the back of my neck sweat.

Austin leans closer and that made the tears flow from my eyes. He wipes each tears with his thumb and my body shakes.

"I've been dying to tell you this Diana" Austin starts "I've been fucking dying to tell you that I'd learn to love you. Doesn't make my actions obvious that I have feelings for you? You're making it really hard for me, huh? But I'll tell you what? I love challenges" he finished.

Suddenly, he connects his lips to mine and it processed into my mind before I know what exactly is he doing. Austin Carter is kissing me, but I am not kissing him. He pushes his body to mine and I could feel his length go hard because he is pushing himself too much.

I immediately pulled away and got out of his body cage, got my stuff, and went out of the meeting room. This is fucking wrong. Everything's wrong. I know Austin is a kind man, but he's too good for me and I had decided not to have a relationship with business men, not to mention my ex-boyfriend is a business man.

I went straight in Mr. Carter's office and place all the stuff in the places where ot should be placed.

"What took you so long?" Mr. Carter asked.

"T-things, well, you know, there's a lot going on there" I can't find my words "I'll be back Mr. Carter, I just need to go to the bathroom" I added.

I left the office and immediately went in the bathroom. I open the faucet and wash my mouth, I just can't believe that Austin kissed me. I pulled the tissue from the tissue holder and wipe my mouth. I look at myself in the mirror and asked myself.

"Is Austin serious about me? Cause I don't think it is appropriate that I will like him back" I took a deep breathe "It's just so not me".

I took a deep breathe and went out of the bathroom. I was walking on the company's hallway when I spotted Austin, fixing his neck tie, walking towards somewhere. My eyes widen and I immediately hid behind a wall and started breathing heavily, cause I don't want any contact with the son of my boss, after what happened earlier in the meeting room.

I took a quick peek and fuck hell because he is still there talking to one of the workers. I started looking around for a room or another way to walk back to Mr. Carter's office. Luckily, I found the elevator D.

The elevator D is the fourth elevator of the company out of five and its located a few walks away from me, and if I could get in that lift and go down, it will give me a lot of time to wait for Austin to disappear and then I could go back to work. I started walking so fast that later on we could call it sprinting, towards the elevator D.

I am about to press the button when I hear someone shouted my name.

"Diana!"

Uh.

Oh.

I exhaled heavily and turn around. Austin's looking at me with a smile plastered on his face and his hands in his pockets. This is going to be bad.

"Yes?" I asked forcing a smile.

I can't act as if nothing happened a while ago in the meeting room and yet I am trying to, because it will probably cause me trouble. Not just some sort of trouble, but a trouble with my boss' son.

"Where are you headed?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"To Mr. Carter's office?" My answer was more of a question than a statement.

"Dad's office is right over there" Austin pointed to the direction "And elevator D won't lead you there" he added.

Shit. This is freaking me out, "Oh! I totally forgot" I lie.

I immediately pass by Austin, not bothering to say a word to him again, and went back to Mr. Carter's office.

I sat on my desk and started doing my work.

"Diana, are you not feeling well right now?" Mr. Carter asked while writing on a cheque.

"No sir! Why?" I asked looking at him.

"You were in the bathroom for forty-five minutes" he look at me.

"Oh! No, sorry sir, I just had....uhm, you know, some nature problems" I answered.

"Oh! Okay" he went back in doing something.
