CHAPTER 8

Bongbong :

Bongbong is currently busy sa pag aasikaso sa mga relief goods na kailangan nila eh distribute sa karatig bayan.

He's a current governor of ilocos gusto niya talaga hands on pagdating sa mga distributing or paghahatid ng tulong sa mga kababayan no need for media hinde naman kasi eto pagpapasikat mas kailangan ng mga tao ang agarang tulong hinde yung iisipin mopa na pabanguhin muna ang pangalan bago tumulong.

Nasa kalagitnaan na siya ng pagmomonitor kung maayos na ang mga truck na magdadala ng goods nung makatanggap siya ng tawag kay manang ime.

"Oh manang what is it?" i said after accepting the call.

"Wow naman you're so sweet bonget wala man lang ba pa how are you?" sarcasm is all over her body talaga kaya di na mawawala sa kanya yun.

"Eto naman the last time weve been together is last 2days ago manang not a year ago" sagot ko naman sa kanya ang OA minsan.

"Ay ganon ba haha by the way where are you? we need to talk I have something very important to discuss with you like right now"

Halata sa boses niya na parang excited siya kaya na curious ako kung ano yung important na kailangan niya eh discuss nayun.

"Can't we just talk about it over the phone? " tanong ko narinig kopa ang pag 'tsk' niya sa other line kaya sure akong importante talaga ang sasabihin niya.

"NO! we have to meet now its very important bonget meet me in our moms house ill be there in an hour nandito pako sa manila papunta nako dyan" then she hung up the phone after saying those words.

She won't take no for an answer ang ibig sabihin nun
which means hinde ako sasama sa distributing kaya nag utos nalang ako ng incharge para dun and then I drove myself home.

I arrive in our house more earlier kaya pumunta muna ako kay mommy para kamustahin siya irene is staying with her nandito din kami nag sestay every weekends ayaw niya kasi na wala kami sa house every weekend lalo na sunday kasi church time.

After almost an hour manang arrived pa kembot kembot pa siya habang palapit na parang ang ganda ng mood kaya tumawa si mommy she's really something she never failed to make our mom laugh all the time.

I know this woman meron na naman sigurong magandang nangyare and to my surprise irene is also in the house kasunod niya lang naglalakad ano kaya ang meron.

Im sure this is all manang's idea.

"Hi people in the house! " masigla niyang bati at her age talaga napaka likot padin niya hinde nagbabago.

Lumapit siya kay mom to kiss her on her cheeks sabay yakap.

"What's the occasion Ime?" I asked her cuz I can't take my curiosity anymore.

"Well I asked you to come bonget cuz I have to talk to you about this coming election and I asked irene to be here for moral support lang" tumawa siya after holding irene's arm.

"What is this all about ba manang?" tanong naman ni irene na halatang walang idea.

"what about it?" naupo na kami sa sofa sa living room area to talk better.

"I want you to run in this coming election bonget" seryuso niyang sabi.

"What?! No ime I thought we've already talked about this? you knew what I've been through last time!" I get so irrational in this matter all the time.

"Yes I know and this is the time to redeem your dignity and yourself bonget it doesn't mean that you failed once you will fail again twice we all know how trashy our government that time and I won't let that happen again this time you have my word"

She's saying those words without a shadow of a doubt but I felt reluctant of the idea.

"How are you so sure about that manang?" Im still not convinced kaya I can't agree of her idea.

"I already talked to sara about this yesterday she's waiting for your decision she's running for a president so I asked her if you could be her vice presidential running mate" she said nagkibit balikat pa nga.

And just like that all my grounds swift away its like she just used the magic word and all my uncertainties left me..

Manang is looking at me like she knows that she won this time and she got there.

"What do you mean by that? You mean sara also want this ? Tanong ko not trying to sound really interested.

She really knows how to get me at that moment she is sure that I won't argue anymore.

"Im not sure in that matter she's also undecided, she said she will decide after we talk so I need your decision" she said with conviction.

I don't know what to say anymore why does my decision matter to her does it mean she's really considering me to be her running mate?

Just by thinking of it I felt this weird something on my stomach.

"And you know what bonget she doesn't really want to run at first but after bringing you up to her she started to consider" pang gagatong niya pa.

Manang said it like she's adding some more fuel to the fire sound like she's teasing me by the way she talk.

I looked at all of them and they all looked the same kaya napabuntong hininga nalang ako.

I guess manang already planned all of this she knows what to say to get me.

And just by thinking of running with sara made me feel so excited not minding what happened to me before anymore.
