Just like I thought I didn't sleep through the night. I woke up from a nightmare around 2am. There was no way I was going back to sleep, so I got out of bed and went to my office to fill out the paperwork from the case. Around 6 I was completed and decided to changed into my work out gear, a black sports bra and shorts. I threw my hair up into a ponytail and grabbed my phone and headphones. Putting on my shoes I walked out the door locking in behind me and started to run. My thoughts were rasing and I couldn't get my nightmare out of my head.

"JJ come in!" Morgan yelled over coms. I couldn't get anything out my whole body hurt, I was cold and in a lot of pain. I don't remember what all happened. We went to interview a witness again. Something didn't add up. I had a bad feeling but pushed it aside because there wasn't enough evidence. Morgan and I went to the witnesses house and before we could knock he busted out the door and Morgan was knocked over. He told me he was alright and I told him to look for the kids as I was already running after him. He yelled after me to wait for backup as I'm sure he called in but I was to focused on the chase. I was catching up, I guess being a track star paid off, he hopped the fence and as I went to jump I noticed he stumbled which gave me the opportunity to hurdle over and tackle him the the ground. We struggled and he elbowed me in the ribs and punched my face. I slipped off of him and reached for my gun but he slapped it away. Then out of nowhere he sliced me in the gut with a knife. I didn't stop to think about it, I punched him in the face and kicked his knees out. Then doing a dive roll to reach my gun I spun around and pointed it at him. I jumped up and told him to stand down, but he lunged at me with his knife. I pulled the trigger. Two bullets to the chest, dead center to is heart. He collapsed right away dropping the knife onto the grass. I was frozen for a second then I heard Morgan telling in my ear. The pain shot through me instantly as I dropped to the ground and looked at my abdomen. I didn't realize how bad he got me my FBI shirt was no soaked in blood mine and his. He definitely hit a lung of something as I was struggling to breath and then I coughed up blood. Great just what I need. I was loosing focus when I saw Morgan appear in front of me. I saw his mouth moving but couldn't hear him, then I felt pressure and let out a groan and I think I passed out because the next thing I new I was in the hospital...

Snapping out of my thoughts I realized I was sprinting and was about 5 miles away from my apartment. Slowing down I decided to head back. About 30 minutes later I got back and hopped into the shower. After that I threw on some black jeans and a red tee. I went to the kitchen and made a smoothie and avocado toast. After that I was a little board to I grabbed my work bag and keys then walked out the door, locking it behind me. I hopped in my Toyota:

And then drove off to work. 15 minutes later I hopped out of the car and walked into the building scanning my badge to get onto the BAU level. I walked into my office and started to file my paperwork. About an hour later Emily popped her head into my office. "What are you doing here? I thought Hotch told you not to come back?" Emily said with a d confused but stern tone. "I wanted to get this case closed and paperwork filed as soon as possible so I can enjoy whatever time we have before the next one" I told her while leaning back I my chair. "Well did you finish?" She asks knowing she lost whatever fight she was trying to put up. "Just before you walked in I was about to pack up and leave." I told her truthfully. "Good I'm headed out too come on I'll walk out with you." She told me. I grabbed my things and we walked out to our cars. "Have you told Elizabeth you're back yet?" She asked. "I was actually going to head over to hers after so no not yet" I told her with a chuckle. "She is going to kill you for not telling her right as we landed" she laughs. Smiling I say, "I know, I know but it was late and I wanted to get everything out of the way so I don't have to worry about it and just be able to hang out with her, scar and rose." "Ya I get that, well you go and surprise them. Hopefully I don't get a call about a dead body" she laughs. I wave goodbye and get into my car and drive off to surprise Lizzie.
