Chapter 10

Rose POV

After I read the note I put it in my pocket. I need to get them back to court. They aren't safe here in the woods. I pull out the thing that's makes me calm. My monopoly piece from Tim. I miss him. When I'm with him everything seems to disappears. We were great partners and I can't wait to see him again. I decide to go on a run. I need to calm down. Once I got my running shoes on, I'm out.

"Why can't I have a good life?"  I find myself saying that out loud.

"Because of the choices that have been made."

I turn around and scream. Sasha?

"What are you doing here?"  He's standing by a tree. Still moroi.

"I came to see you."     He still looks drop dead gorgeous. I feel like we have a connection. But I can't tell him that.

"Why? What do you want from me?"   

I'm not worried at all. Unless a bunch of strigoi came out.

"First of all don't worry, no strigoi are here. But they are around waiting for my orders. Secondly, I don't know why but I feel a connection between us and I wanted to see you again."

He feels the connection too? How's it even possible?

"Why do the strigoi need your order? Why not get orders from Galina?"

"She trusted me enough to let me handle the situation."

That doesn't seem right.

"Why me? Why not some other dhampir?" 

I had to ask. That's got me worried.

"Because Galina see so much potential in you. She's read all the reports on you and wants you bad. Rose Hathaway, the best known strigoi hunter."

There has to be other guardians just as good as me, right?

"What's the choice I'll have to make?"

He laughs.

"I can't tell you. That would ruin the fun. But I can tell you, it will come sooner than you think."

He smiles wickedly at me. He honestly looks great when he did that. He's so good looking. I look up into his eyes and just stare. He's already looking at me to.

I feel my blood boil. I haven't felt this way since Dimitri. Why do I feel like this by Sasha? I barely know the guy and I want to be with him. Then he brakes the silence and moves toward me, still looking into my eyes. Then he pull me into a kiss.

Damn!

Without my knowing I kiss him back. I let it all out. I realize, I haven't kissed a boy in years. It tastes so good. Sasha is taller than me so he's leaning over me and I don't want him to stop. But then he's pulls me away.

"SHIT!"  I jump away from him. He looks shocked.

"What did I do?"

"Your the enemy! I'm not even suppose to be talking to you!"

"Why can't you just enjoy the moment! I loved every second of that kiss! I haven't felt this way in years. The last time I felt this way was when I was in court. Five years ago, I met a dhampir women and she was great, but then she decided she didn't love me anymore!"

We had almost the same story and I felt terrible. The  is exactly.ejat happened with Dimitri! He seemed like he was telling the truth.

"I'm so sorry. Who is this women? I might know her."

"Her name is Alberta and she's a guardian."

Oh shit! I'm going to talk to her, right when I get back.

"What would you do if you saw her again?"

He looked like he was thinking.

"When I came willingly to Galina she made me promise something. I would fulfill the promise the promise I made to my leader."

"What was the promise?"

"To bring her to Galina and kill her."

Holy shit! I'm suppose to save them.

"When we kissed did you think about her or just me?"

I find myself asking.

"I only thought about you."   I smile in the inside. He smiles at me.

"I'm sorry, but I need to get back. They'll start worrying."

He looks sad.

"When can I see you again?"

"Were not suppose to see each other at all! Remember, your still the enemy."

"Well this enemy is craving another kiss from you."

He smirks at me. He looks so handsome in that position.

"I have no idea whats going on between us, but it can't continue. Or at least not now."

"I'll keep your word on that. But I will see you again, remember I still work for the bad guys. I need to finish the job."

"Why are you with them?" I had to ask before I left.

He looks at me sadly.

"Because, they said they would make the pain go away at some.point. I'll miss you Rose. You are the first person I've ever told anything to."

That makes my heart flutter. Then he turns around and start to walk away. Then I find myself saying.

"The kiss was amazing! I haven't felt that way in years. You made me forget everything!"

He turns around and I run. I look back and see him smiling.

What have I gotten myself into?

After a while I return back to camp. I was was gone for and hour! Once I reach the fire, decide to sit down. I'm actually really cold and tired. But Sasha made me forget that I was. I let out a deep sigh. Then something crunches behind me. I quickly get into my fighting pose.

"Why we're you gone for a full hour? Roza?"

Oh shit. It's the one person I don't want to talk to right now. I already know that he's going to wreck my mood. I look up and smile.

"Hello, Dimitri."
