Chapter 24

Rose POV

As I look out of the plane window, I'm amazed at what I'm looking at. This castle is one of the most spectacular views I've ever seen. Amazing.

"How can you afford this?"

This place is overwhelming.

"We actually do business with humans. We do many things some legal, some illegal."

Galina says that like it's no big deal.

"How can the humans trust you?"

"They don't. We usually have to use compulsion on them. Some humans do business with us willingly."

I feel the plane start to decend. My time Is almost up. It's morning time so all the strigoi on the plane have to take the underground tunnels. They have everything planned out, so that they don't get injured by the sun.

Once we all get off the plane, I'm escorted to the front of the castle. It's just me and Sasha, all alone.

"Do you remember the day we met?"

I say to him quietly.

"Of course I do. It was the day I saw the most gorgeous girl in a red GUCCI dress. She also called me a basterd."

He says smiling down at me. I laugh.

"A lovely basterd."

A give him my brightest smile and the doors open. I see humans right away.

"There the slaves that work for us. They have done something to one of our kind an  this is there punishment. I'm sorry if you don't like seeing this."

"It's alright. It's just a lot to take in."

He squeezes my hand reassuringly.

"We have a little time until they want to see you, is there anything you want to do?"

"Anywhere. Surprise me"

"Follow me."

He sounds excited. We head up the grand staircase and the view is gorgeous. I look around and see strigoi everywhere.

"Don't worry about anything. They all know not to touch you."

"That's reassuring."

"We're here."

He opens a door and all I see is darkness. Then he turns on a light. It's a greenhouse.

"It's beautiful."

"I made it for you."

"Thanks you!"

I run up to him and give him a kiss. I love flowers. They remind me about how beautiful life can be. Even if someone gets me roses, I'll love them.

"I didn't think you would like being here. I never thought you would stay with me, even after everything that's happened."

"Just because you're involved with strigoi, doesn't mean that I wouldn't love you one but less."

"I promise you, everything will be straightened out. We can have a future together if we want t."

"That's all I ever wanted with you."

He pulls me into his embrace.

"I will never let anyone harm you. I love you so much Rose."

Suddenly someone barges into the greenhouse. It looks like two big men. Strigoi.

"Rose Hathaway, your presence is requested in the courtroom. Come with us."

They sound evil.

"Ok. Goodbye Sasha."

He looks sad. My life is now in their hands. My future is about to be decided for me. As I head down the hallway, I see hungry eyes looking all over me. Then the strigoi open two huge doors for me.

"It's nice to finally meet you, Rose Hathaway."
