Chapter 25

Rose POV

I look around and see strigoi all around me. What the hell do they want from me?

"Rose, we've heard a lot about you. Some good, some bad. You're probably wondering, what do we want to do with you. Well, we'll tell you in time, but first we want to introduce ourselves."

I look around and realize that there are humans in the room. Blood whores. How could all of them be here without someone noticing?

One of them men get up and walk towards me. He comes up to me and looks me right in the eyes.

"I'm Alexander Baskov and that is my brother Richard Baskov. We all want you to trust us. There's no need for you to be afraid of us."

"How can I trust you?"

I now can see the resemblance between him and his brother. Black hair, blue eyes, tall, and pale white.

"We have taken extra precautions to guarantee your safety and no one would dare hurt you. Our leaders son is in love with you."

I smile to myself.

"I have a question, that needs an answer."

"Anything."

Have strigoi always been this nice?

"What happened to everyone at court? Did you capture any of them? Did any of them get away?"

He looks angry for a second, but then calms down.

"Would you like me to show you?"

What the hell does he mean by that?

"Yes, please."

"Court dismissed! Well discus important matters later!"

He grabs my hand and pulls me towards the door. He feels so cold. We're all alone as we walk down the hallway. It feels so calming to be here. Away from all the problems at home.

"How long have you been a strigoi?"

"Seven years. Why?"

"I'm just wondering. I might as well get to know you, since I'll be here for a while."

"Is there anything else you'd like to know?"

"How old are you?"

"I'm stuck at 25. I would've been 32."

He looks almost sad.

"I'm sorry."

"Its alright. I have a question for you. Why were they going to erase your memories?"

"I turned dark after what my boyfriend did to me. I thought you already knew this."

"Only bits and pieces. Tell me more."

"I left to my dad and worked undercover. When I decided to return, they put me to sleep and brought me back to court. That's when I went crazy, I was trying to help them and they betrayed me. Basterds."

"I'm so sorry."

He looks like he means it.

"Its alright. I'll get my revenge."

He laughs.

"That's what I like to hear. Count me in!"

We laugh together. I feel like I can be myself when I'm with Alexander.

"We've arrived. Try not to hate us."

I start to get worried.

He opens a door that leads to our destination.

"Welcome to the dungeon."

He then flips a light switch on.

"Holy shit."

I whisper to myself.
