Chapter 9

Rose POV

Suddenly a fireball comes straight at me. I jump to the side.

"Is that a way to great a friend?"  I say with a smirk.

"You never contacted us! You left us worried!"  I can tell he's pissed. Why wouldn't he be. I wanted to come back all the time,  but I couldn't come back. Christian is walking towards me.

"I missed you to." I say smiling and feel my eyes water.

He pulls me into a hug. I've really needed one.

"Rose?"  I hear someone whisper from behind Christian. Lissa.

She sends a message through the bond.

Why did you leave me?  

I had to. I only hope you could understand why.

We have a lot to catch up about. Please let's sit down.

One minute. I have to greet Adrian.

Ok.   

She smiles at me. I look over and see Adrian.

"Miss me?"  I kinda give him a side smile.

"Of course I missed you! Do you have any idea the pain you put me through!"

I get pulled into another hug.

"Don't you ever leave again. This time, I won't let you leave. I'll protect you."

I smile at him. Why does he have to look so good?

"Thanks for your concern. But I go wherever my job takes me."

He frowns at me. Then I look around, my whole team is here.

"Team set up camp. We're done for the night."

They all nod at me and leave the area.

I turn around and see them all looking at me. I missed them so much. I turn to Alberta.

"I'm sorry if I put you into shock. Next time give me what I want, when I want. Understand?"

"Rose lets go for a walk." 

Then I head off with Lissa. After a while Lissa says something.

"Did you even remember me?"

"Always. I day didn't go by when I didn't think about you."

She starts to cry.

"I'm so sorry. It's partly my fault. I should've not pushed you away. I promise this time, I'll never leave your side."

"Thanks. So how's your relationship with Christian?"

"It's great! I'm thinking about marrying him! I wanted to go on this trip, to talk to him about it."

She smiles brightly.

"That's great Lissa! I'm so happy for you. I wish I could've helped you along the way."

"Have you been in any relationships since Dimitri?" 

She looks sad when she says his name.

"Yes."  I smile at her

"Oh my God! What was he like? I'm so happy for you!"

"He was amazing. He made me forgot all of my problems. I really liked him, he meant so much to me. Then he left the country."

"I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you miss him?"

"I did miss him for a while. But after a while everything faded."

"What do you think of Dimitri? Is it hard to see him?"

"It's not hard at all. He looks good but he hurt me to much. Sometimes I feel like I have no heart at all."

"Don't say that!"  She says it very loudly.

"I think we should head back."   As we're walking Lissa asks one more question. Tue one I've been dreading.

"As much as I love to see you again, why did you come back?"

"I'll be honest with you, since you can tell if I lie. Lissa, all of you are in danger. I came here to protect you, until the target is destroyed."

She looks horrified.

"Let's hurry and get back now!" We start jogging back and everyone is waiting.

"My team will take the night watches. Well all protect you. I'll explain everything tomorrow, I promise."

They all nod at me and head there separate ways. I turn and look at my group, we all decide shift times. I got second shift. I head to my tent and zip the door shut. I scream.

There's another note. How did they get here? I pick it up and open it.

That talk with Lissa got quite emotional. To bad your emotions will be taken away from you soon.    -Galina
