Chapter 23

Rose POV

Darkness surrounds me. I see nothing, but I feel like I have a throbbing headache.

"We've almost arrived son. Be prepared to depart."

I recognize that voice instantly, it's Galina. I suddenly feel arms wrap around me.

"Ok, mother. I'm sure they'll be even more impressed with her in person."

"I think so too son."

Who are these other people there talking about? Where the hell am I?

"Do you approve of her?"

"From what I've seen, yes. I really like her and I think the two of you are a perfect couple."

"I'm glad you approve."

I try to move around, but I feel frozen. Why can't I move? It feels so nice to be against Sasha, he feels so warm. I try to move any part of my body, hoping that I could fully wake up. I must've lost a lot of blood.

"Please wake up, love"

I hear Sasha barely whisper.

I start to see color in the corner of my eyes. Then I get my full vision back. I look at Sasha right away, he's already looking down and smiling at me.

"I've missed you sweetheart. I can't loose you yet."

"I'll still be around for a while, love."

He picks up my head and gives me a kiss. So much has happened in the past day, that I feel like I can't handle all of the stress.

"A normal dhampir would be screaming right about now. You know, since your around a bunch of strigoi right now."

Galina says and interrupts our kiss.

"Well you should know by now that I'm not normal." I smile at her.

"You've got that right dear!" She laughs.

Galina seems so nice. I thought strigoi were suppose to be evil. Maybe she's only sucking up to me. What do they even want with me?

I look around and see that I'm now in a plane. They must've moved me while I was unconscious.

"Darling there's something you should about me."

Galina says out of nowhere.

"What?"

"When some of us were changed into a strigoi, we got powers. Mine was that I can read minds. Now to answer your question, I'm nice to people like. If you get on my bad side, I'll make your life a living hell."

How can she look so nice, but sound so demanding. She's laughs. Shit!

"Its going to be hard to be around you and thinking about your son at the same time."

We laugh together and Sasha blushes. I wink at him playfully.

"I love you, you know that?" I smile at him.

"I know that. I love you to." He says that to me and gives me a kiss on the cheek.

I focus my attention back to Galina. Sasha holds my hand in his hand and we look at eachother.

"So Galina, what are you really going to do to me?"

"We're going to take you to other strigoi leaders and they'll evaluate you. I am the leader of all strigoi, but there my advisors. We should almost be there."

I know in my head that I won't stay dhampir for long, they'll probably turn me very soon. They wouldn't leave me like this, they probably want me to use my skills to find and kill moroi. All of the moroi.

Sasha squeezes my hand reassuringly. Galina looks at me for a long time, caringly. She probably just read my mind. Shit! I need to be strong and show no weaknesses.

"Rose, we've arrived." Sasha interrupts my thinking.

I look out of my window and gasp.

"Holy Shit."
