Chapter 8

Rose POV

Jessica is standing beside me as I hold Dimitri. I really have changed since he last saw me. After I left it put everything into perspective. I could've been one of the best guardian. Now I'm the top secret agent at my dad's work. What would've my life been like if I stayed?

"Rose?" I look over at Jessica.

"Do you need something?" I'm kinda confused. Did something happen?

"Your dad is calling, he wants to know what's going on." Dimitri looks up.

"You were with your dad the whole time! Your mom talked to him all the time!"

He looks pissed.

"I know how to cover my tracks and how to bribe my dad to stay quite."

His pissed off look use to make me turn on. But now I feel nothing. I thought it would be a little hard to see him. I guess I was wrong. I wake the phone and listen to my dad.

"Have you made contact with them?"

"We're heading towards them as we speak."

"Have you gotten any other notes?" I was wondering if any more will come.

"One. We're going as fast as we can go."

"Just let me know if you need more guards. How's Dimitri, is he causing any trouble?"

I look over at Dimitri.

"He's fine. When we first saw each other he was a jackass. But now he's showing us were to go."

He looked up at me, when I said jackass.

"That's good. Just make sure your not to late. I want a daily report, understand?"

"Understood, goodbye dad."

"Goodbye, Rose." Then we hung up. I love my dad, but we don't always spend quality time together. I look over at Dimitri. He's already looking at me.

"How much further?"

"Less than a mile." He looks confused.

"Do you need something?"

"Why didn't you ever contact us? Did I hurt you that bad?"

I'm shocked. He admitted that he actually hurt me.

"It was easier to shut everyone out." I can't believe I said that.

"I'm so sorry, Roza."

"Save it for someone who cares." He looks terrible. I know that I hurt him.

I look over at Jessica, she was listening the whole time. She gave me a reassuring smile. Suddenly, I feel nausea. Oh Shit!

I go into my fighting position. Everybody around me goes still. About 5 strigoi jump out around us. Me and my friends attack right away. I stake one, these are a little more tough. Then one grabs me, he wouldn't let go. Dimitri kicks him in the back, which sends me and the strigoi down. Shit! I flip the strigoi over and I scream.

The strigoi claws at me. I kick him in the groin and pin him down.

"Who sent you?"

"Galina, I have a message for you." He handed me a note.

Your time is coming to an end. You'll have to choose at some point - Galina

The strigoi starts laughing. I snap his neck and stand up. All the other strigoi are killed. There all looking at me, probably wondering what the letter said.

"Lets move out!" I look over at Dimitri and grab him by the collar.

"Don't you ever interfere with my fighting ever again! Understood?" He looks scared. Probably because I have blood all over my face, because of him. Within the hour were at their camp. I can sense Lissa. We still have our bond, but I've blocked it. Then I see people from a distance.

Christian comes out first. Then Lissa and Adrian.

"Hello, hothead" Hell is about to go down.
