Chapter 41

Edward POV

Today is the best day of my life. My beautiful wife gave birth to the most precious girl. I don't know how this day could get any better.

I had to go out, to get some blood. It was still dark out so it was easy to find a drunk person. After I drank all of the blood out of the body, I started to head back to the hospital.

I feel like I should change Rose. I've wanted to turn her for a long time. But the pregnancy put that on hold.

All of a sudden, I felt a wave of something that smelled like wet dog. It was disgusting.

"What the hell is going on?"

I've never smelt this before.

I look down at my phone, I've only been gone for a half an hour. What would make this smell so bad?

I start running back towards the hospital. Something isn't right, I can feel it. I burst open the door and run up the stairs to Rose's room. When I get there, I see a body on the ground.

I look at the bed and the sheets our on the ground.

"Rose!"

I turn the body over, to see who it is.

The doctor.

Why is he dead?

"Doctor!"

I pull out my phone and I call Galina.

"Hello Edward! How's Rose and the baby?"

"Their gone. Someone took her. Galina I need you to send my team out looking for her."

"Edward calm down. Do you have the baby?"

"Yes, she's here with me. But if someone took Rose, why would they leave the baby? Galina who the hell would take my wife?"

"Edward the team is already on the search. Keep the baby safe. Well find her."

We both hang up and I pick up Adaline. I start pacing the room. Next thing I know, I see a group of trackers rushing Into the room. Picking up any scent they could find.

"Did you find anything?"

"No sir. All of the scent is gone. It's like no one was ever here."

"She couldn't have just disappeared! Find something!"

"Sir, I found a note."

To Edward,

Your wife will be in good hands. You have no need to worry. I'm sure she'll like spending time with us. We left the baby as a warning. A warning to you, to show you how easy it is to take someone you love away from you. You can try to find us, but you never will. We find you. You will see eachother again , but only when I allow it.

"Who the hell is Derek?"

"Derek was an old friend."

I turn to see Galina. I didn't even notice she came in.

"Why haven't we heard of him before?"

"Edward he's a different species. He's the leader of the werewolves. I betrayed him."

"Werewolves?"

"I don't know why they would want Rose, but we'll find out."

Then everyone leaves the room and they take the body away. I look down at the baby in my arms.

"Rose I'll find you, no matter how long it takes. I'll protect this baby with my life."

How could she disappear into thin air?

I find you Rose. No matter how long it takes.
