Edmund only gave a hum of agreement and a nod before starting to walk, his hand holding your wrist, as if making sure you wouldn't disappear again. You smiled at the gesture, now realizing just how wrong you had been about him not wanting you around.

When you and Edmund reached Caspian, who was walking in front of Lucy and Reepicheep, the older boy gave you both a grin. "Everything alright, now?" he asked, letting you two fall into pace with him and the rest of the crew. They had started walking when you two grew near enough to show that you were ready to go.
You rolled your eyes with a grin. "Of course you noticed," you scoffed. "But yeah," you nodded to the side. "Just a little... misunderstanding. The mist finally caught up to my mind and decided to-" You clicked your tongue, pointing to the side of your head, "-play a little trick." Although your tone was joking, both of the boys understood that you were actually worried.
"On that note," you continued. "I suppose we're quite near the Dark Island. I can't imagine any other reason. I mean - the mist hasn't affected me before so something had to change." You had lowered your voice when you spoke so as to not alert and worry the crew about it.
A shiver ran up your spine at your own words despite the calm and homey atmosphere. Talking about the matter was the only thing you could think of doing to calm your nerves that were starting to slowly put you on edge. You had hoped that Ramandu's Island and Aslan's Table with it would calm you down but that was before the nightmare. Now was after and you started to doubt your previous thoughts and assumptions.
"We'll be fine," Edmund assured. You wanted to believe him but the hesitant undertone of his voice gave away that he didn't quite believe his words himself.
Caspian on your left hummed as he looked up to the sky. "It's getting darker," he said, doing a favor to all of you by changing the topic. "I don't think we'll be able to reach Aslan's Table before nightfall."
"I have this," Edmund grinned, tossing his torch in his hand.
You chuckled lightly at his silliness before answering slyly. "We can see that."
Edmund feigned being offended and jabbed an elbow in the side of your ribs. "That tone!"
"What about it?" you grinned, casting him a glance before looking at the trail. You could feel your older-brother-figure watch the situation with amusement.
"That is no tone to address me, the mighty Edmund!" he declared, flailing his arms around to add effect.
"Oh I'm sorry, Your High Majesty." You mocked a bow, actually not sorry at all. "Perhaps you'll spare me today and I don't have to be banished from this trail."
Caspian had clenched his jaw, trying to hold back the bubbling laughter but now, after seeing you and Edmund act so ridiculously in such a serious situation, it sputtered out.
You gasped. "Is that- Is that young man laughing at us, Edmund?" You looked at Caspian with wide eyes.
"What do you have to say for yourself, Child?" Edmund asked, staring the older boy down.
"Oh my deepest apologies, Your Majesties," Caspian grinned, bowing his head as he played along. Then he turned a bit more serious. "But I don't suppose your behavior is quite fitting for the situation."
That one sentence brought you and Edmund back to reality and you felt your mind clear of all jokes. You cleared your throat. "Yeah, I guess so," you agreed, now back to your normal voice instead of the high-pitched one. "We're almost there, too."
And that, you were. The road wasn't as rocky anymore and the surroundings started to resemble archways instead of a mountain road. Edmund flickered on his torch and picked up the pace to reach in front of everyone, as he was the one to shower the light on the path.
