It was Monday and that meant that it was time for work. I worked at a local supermarket here in Milwaukee as a cashier. I was still really tired from everything yesterday. When Kalen and I got home, we proceeded to watch his favorite movie and we ended up going to sleep around 12 midnight.

I had forgotten to put my phone to charge as soon as I cam home so I charged it overnight. I checked my phone after getting dressed for work and noticed that I had an unread message.

Hey Rayleen, this is Christian. I know it's sort of late so you're probably sleeping. Hope you had a great time at the game tonight and I'm looking forward to our date if you're still down to go.

ME
Heyy Christian, Kalen and I had a really great time, thank you. I'm also looking forward to our date. Let me know whenever you're free Mr. Baseball.

After sending the message, I grabbed my things and went to check on Kalen before leaving the house. I saw that he was sleeping and I just fixed his blanket, covering him more before walking out of his room and out the apartment.

Work today was so tiring. There was this big conflict between a customer and one of our new workers about the prices going up on an item she said was lower when she bought it last week. Apparently she didn't know that the store could increase prices. I swear some people are just plain dumb.

I was walking home slower than I usually ever walked because my body was tired. I hadn't slept well these past few days and my body was feeling it. My legs were also sore from working out. I just wanted to get home and sleep.

As I was turning a corner, I heard my name being called. "Rayleen!" I heard. I turned around and noticed a man waving at me from across the street. I looked at him weirdly and just waved back.

The man I didn't really recognize because he had sunglasses on, looked both ways before crossing the street to come to me. I backed up instinctively as he approached me.

"Umm. Hi?" I asked weirdly.

"Oh, it's me." He said as he took off the glasses causing me to realize that it was Christian. "Sorry, I wear these as a disguise."

I chuckled and smiled at me. "No, it's okay. I'm sorry I didn't realize it was you. How are you?"

"I'm good, just stopped here to get a bagel after practice." He said as he pointed to the bakery in front of us. "How about you?"

"Oh that's great. I just got out of work and I'm tired." I chuckled.

"Yeah, I can tell. You have circle under your eyes." He chuckled as well. "I can give you a ride home if you'd like." He said.

I shook my head and said, "It's okay, you don't have to. I'm sure I won't pass out from walking." I joked.

"It's honestly no big deal." He said. "I have nothing to do right now. I could get you to your house in less time than you walking which means you can go to sleep faster."

He wasn't wrong. If he gave me a ride, I'd get home faster and be able to go to sleep faster which is what I really needed and wanted right now.

I thought about it for a little bit and then nodded. "Okay, I accept your offer."

"Great come on, lets get you home." He said as he held out his hand to me. I smiled at him and grabbed his hand.

Christian put his glasses back on and we walked back across the street, towards his car that was parked in the bakery parking lot.
