Today was the MLB All-Star game in Washington D.C. Kalen had begged me to have some of his baseball friends over for the game and I agreed. He's basically having a party in our small apartment but I allowed it because he was really excited and I wanted him to be happy.

Since it was Tuesday, that meant that I had to work. I got out at 3:00 o'clock and decided to buy some snacks and drinks for the boys when they came over to the apartment. I would have texted Kalen and asked him what kind of drinks he's like but he was already at practice.

I decided to get some Doritos, chocolates, and Pringles. For drinks, I got some Gatorades, Coke, and water. I was also planning to order the boys some pizza during the game so that meant I didn't have to cook tonight which was the good thing.

As I was going to the check out stand, I heard someone yelling. I looked over at where the noise was coming from and saw one of my coworkers yelling at one of the customers. I noticed that the customer she was yelling at was a older lady that came almost every week on the same day named Jamie. I was always the one she came to when it came to checking out and I actually liked her.

I walked over to try and find out what the situation was and help solve whatever the problem was.

"Oh thank God." Jamie said when she saw me walking towards them. "Rayleen, why is she yelling at me?"

"What's going on? What happened?" I asked as I stood beside Jamie and looked at my coworker Courtney.

I felt Jamie touch my arm and I looked at her. "I was only asking her where you were. I walked past the cash registers and didn't see you. She started yelling at me after I asked."

I nodded and looked at Courtney for an explanation. "What happened? She can't ask you questions?"

Courtney rolled her eyes and said, "Don't you see that I'm busy? I don't got time for people like her to be asking me stupid ass questions."

"Stupid questions?" I asked and she nodded. "Let me tell you something Courtney. Working here, your first priority is the customers. Whatever you are doing does not matter when it comes to a customer asking you a question. It doesn't matter what kind of question it is."

"Exactly." Jamie said after and I nodded. "If you don't like customers, you shouldn't be working here."

I saw Courtney roll her eyes and was about to say something but was interrupted by the shift manager. "What's going on here?"

The situation was explained to the manager and he handled the rest of it.

"Rayleen, my friends are going to be here in a little bit." Kalen said as he walked into the living room, eyes down on his phone.

"Okay, do you want me to leave?" I asked him, hoping he'd say no because I really wanted to see Christian play.

Kalen looked up from his phone and shook his head. "Nah, you can stay here or whatever. You live here."

I smiled at him and nodded my head. "Okay great. Also, just let me know when you guys want me to order the pizza."

"Would you be able to order it when they get here?" Kalen asked me. "That way we don't eat too late."

"Of course, just ask them what kind of pizza you all would like and I'll order it." I told him.

Kalen nodded and then there was a knock on the door. Kalen went and opened it, while I stood up and walked to the kitchen. I decided that I would stay in the kitchen and watch the game from there, letting the boys be able to sit in the living room all together.
