Today was my first day of my new job at the dance academy. Yes, I got the job which is so exciting. The day I got the call that I got the job, I almost passed out. I had been waiting for that call for so long and I was so excited when I finally got it. The first thing I did was call Christian and tell him the news.
At the moment, Christian was in California playing against the Dodgers again. I was actually really missing Christian a lot lately. They're supposed to be back on Friday for their games against the Rockies. Christian had invited Kalen and I to the game on Saturday which we accepted.
Today being my first day, I was mostly just being shown around and meeting all of the other employees and teachers there. The position I had was assistant choreographer for the Hip-Hop teacher. I had yet to meet him but from what other dance teachers have told me, he's really talented and fun to be around.
I was being led by the owner towards the Hip-Hop studio to meet the head Hip-Hop teacher/choreographer. Getting near the door, I heard music playing so I assumed that he was practicing.
We walked in and I saw a man that seemed to possibly be in his mid 20s dancing to 'In My Feelings' by Drake.
"Excuse me, Mr. Williams." The owner, James Carter said, getting the attention of Mr. Williams.
Mr. Williams smiled at us and ran over to his phone, stopping the music before coming over to us. "Welcome! I'm sorry, I was just practicing the choreography for today." He said, looking at James and then turned to me and held out his hand. "I'm Morgan Williams."
"It's so nice to meet you. I'm Rayleen Pierce." I introduced myself, shaking his hand.
"That's a really nice name." He says, smiling at me.
"Thank you." I smiled back.
James intercepts and says, "Well, I will leave you guys to get to know each other before your classes start."
We both nod and James leaves the room. I look back at Morgan and say, "So, is 'In My Feelings' the song everyone's dancing to today?" I ask him.
"Yeah, we've been practicing it since yesterday so I'm hoping today will be the last practice day so we can start cutting people." He told me and I nodded.
"So, how do the competitions work?" I ask him as we walk over to where there are two seats.
Morgan sits down, and I do as well on the other chair. "So competitions are every other Friday." He says and I nod. "Sometimes they aren't here in Milwaukee but we always try to find competitions in the state instead of going out of state."
I nodded and smiled. "So two weeks of practices and then a competition?" I ask to make sure that I had understood him correctly.
"Yup, you got it right." He told me and I nodded. "So, what made you want to work here?" He asked me.
"Well, I've been dancing ever since I was 15 years old. It became something that I loved doing and I got good at it with practice." I explained to him. "I was in college studying dance until I unfortunately had to drop out due to money reasons but I decided to try it out and see if I had a chance for a job here."
"That's great and I'm sorry you had to drop out. Is Hip-Hop your favorite style?" He asked me and I nodded.
"Yeah, hip-hop has always been my favorite style. Of course I also enjoy doing lyrical and contemporary as like a slower kind of thing." I told him, chuckling. "I just enjoy dancing overall but hip-hop is definitely my favorite because there's a lot more attitude."
Morgan nodded, agreeing with me on the attitude part. "There's definitely a lot of attitude involved. I would love to see how much attitude you have because you seem too nice to have attitude."
"Oh boy." I laughed at that. "I have to admit, I have a lot of attitude. I just know when and where to show it."
"Well, at least you can control it." Morgan chuckled, standing up. "Why don't I show you the choreography before our team gets here?" He asked and I nodded.
"Sure."

"I had so much fun." I said to Christian on the phone as I laid on my bed, talking about my first day at work.
"That's good, sunshine." He smiled at me, while changing into his sleep clothes. "What did you do?" He asked me.
"Well, when I first got there the owner just introduced me to everyone and then I met the hip-hop teacher I will be helping." I explained to him. "I got to know him a little bit better and then he taught me the dance the kids have been learning which is pretty cool."
Christian was now laying on his bed at his mom's house and he nodded, smiling at me. "Is he nice? Do you like him?"
I nodded and said, "He's really nice and also funny. He's a good teacher too. I think we'll get along well."
"Damn, I'm gonna have to step up my game." Christian joked and I laughed.
"No, you have nothing to worry about." I told him. "One, I only have eyes for you and two, Morgan likes men."
Christian nodded and smiled at me through the phone. "I'm not worried. I was only joking but it feels good to know how you feel."
"Of course, how's your mom's house?" I asked him.
"It's nice, we went out for dinner after the game." He told me. "Feels good to be back home, but I can't wait to get back to Milwaukee to see your beautiful self."
I blushed when he said that but I don't think he noticed because he would've made fun of me for it. "Well, I can't wait for you to get back too. I kind of miss you."
"Kind of?" He asked, joking gasping. "I'm over here thinking of you 24/7 and you only 'kind of miss me'?"
"That's not fair! You know I miss you a whole lot." I laughed.
"Nah, you can't take it back now." He said, acting offended. "I'm gonna have to think about something else now."
"No you don't." I told him. "If it makes you feel any better, I think about you a lot too. You can ask Kalen."
Christian laughed and shook his head. "It's okay, Sunshine. I miss you too and I hope you know I'm coming to visit you when I get back."
"I'd hope so." I tell him with a smile on my face.
"Of course." He said and yawned. "I think I'm gonna head off to bed and maybe you should too, you have work in a couple hours."
I looked at the clock and noticed that it was actually getting pretty late. "Yeah you right. I hope you sleep well."
"Thank you, Sunshine." He said, smiling. "I hope you sleep well too and I'll text you when I wake up tomorrow and before the game."
"Okay, I'll be awake." I chuckled. "Goodnight, Mr. Baseball."
"Good night, Sunshine."
