It was finally September and that meant that school was starting soon for Kalen. It was Saturday and Kalen's school starts the day after Labor Day which is Tuesday, September 4th. The plan for today was school shopping for him. I had saved up some money over the weeks since starting my new job at the dance academy and it was enough to buy Kalen all of his necessities for school.
I was cooking up some breakfast for Kalen who was still sleeping. Today was going to be a long day and since he hated shopping, he tried to sleep in as much as he could. I was almost sure that he wasn't even sleeping and was just staying in his room to not come out.
Once I finished making breakfast, I went towards Kalen's room and knocked on the door. "Kalen, get up because I don't want to be out all day shopping." I told him.
"WAIT!" Kalen yelled out from inside the room and I rolled my eyes. Attitude much.
"Hurry up, breakfast is done." I said and walked into my room to get dressed for the day.
I decided on a red hoodie that I had taken from Christian's closet the night I stayed over and some black leggings for today paired with my white air forces that I wore almost every single day. I put my hair in a low bun and decided against makeup for today. I took a quick picture and sent it to Christian.
Christian was in Washington right now playing against the Nationals and I was missing him a lot right now. I always sent him pictures throughout the day just because I wanted to. He texted me this morning saying that he wouldn't be on his phone much throughout the day because they were going to go to the gym and then head straight to the field to get ready early. So I wouldn't be talking to him much today but I was happy that he told me what the plan for him was today so that I wouldn't assume things.
I left my room after I was done getting ready to see Kalen sitting on the couch eating his breakfast. He was wearing a plain black shirt with light-washed jeans and his black vans.
"Oh look, cranky pants is up." I said jokingly as I sat next to him.
"Shut up." He said as he continued eating and I laughed. "It's early and I hate shopping, you know that."
I shrugged and said, "Yeah I know, but school is starting soon and we've pushed it off for enough time. You need clothes, new shoes, and school supplies. So get over it."
"Whatever." Kalen said, standing up and going to the kitchen to put his plate in the sink. "Have you called the uber yet?" He asked me.
"Yes, it will be here in a couple minutes." I told him from the couch.

We had made it to the mall and were searching for clothes at the moment. Kalen was more of a hoodie type of guy so all he had in his hands right now were hoodies.
"Why don't you get something other than hoodies?" I asked Kalen as he kept looking through some hoodies.
"Because it's gonna be cold soon and I'm not going to wear no short sleeve shirts in the winter." He said, still looking through hoodies. "Plus, that school is cold every single day. I'll freeze to death without a hoodie on."
I laughed and shook my head. "Okay, you win. You can pick one more and then we're moving on to pants."
"Okay, choose one." Kalen said as he held up two hoodies. "The tie dye NASA one or the blue one that says 'Eat. Sleep. Repeat.'?"
"They're both really nice." I tell him. "Which one do you like better?"
"I don't know. I think the NASA one is cooler to be honest with you." He said as he looked at both hoodies.
