2018 has been a crazy year with many things happening to me in it. I have been truly blessed this year and wouldn't change it for the world. I found the love of my life, got the job of my dreams, my brother is healthy and happy, and I have been integrated into a family that I adore.
Today was New Year's Eve which meant that in less than 24 hours, we'd be in 2019. Christian and I decided to be the ones to host the New Year's Eve party since Alecia had hosted the Christmas Eve party.
Everyone was set to come over around 5 PM, leaving me 6 hours to clean up the house and make the food we will serve today. I was the only one in the house at the moment since Kalen and Christian decided to go to the gym together to get their workout over with. Christian did invite me but I wanted the house to look the best for the party tonight.
I think we've all known for a while that I'm an overachiever and a perfectionist. Christian told me to take it easy and not do too much because it was supposed to be a small get-together but he knew deep down that I was not going to listen to him.
For dinner tonight, I'm making Turkey breast with a side of corn salad. I'm also going to make some pulled pork nachos since Christian and Kalen both said they'd like to try some. For drinks, Christian has some wine and beers for everyone as well as sodas and juices. I also wanted to decorate the house a little bit so I bought some lights and New Years' decorations to make it look a bit pretty.
At the moment, I was vacuuming the living room with some music playing in the background. I heard car doors outside which meant that Christian and Kalen had just got home from the gym. I walked towards the front door and opened it to see them walking up.
"Hey, Sunshine." Christian said, placing a kiss on my cheek when he reached me.
"Hello!" I smiled at him. "I need you guys to take off your shoes if they're dirty. I just mopped the floor." I told them which made both of them burst out in laughter.
"You're too much, man." Kalen said as he started taking off his shoes.
Christian did the same and then we all walked back into the house. "Is this going to happen when we get married? You're going to make me take off my dirty shoes?" Christian asked we walked into the living room.
"Unless you want to clean up the mess you make, then yes." I told him which made him laugh, pulling me into him so that he could give me a proper kiss.
"You've only been dating for 4 months." Kalen started which made us look at him. "Wait until you're a year in. This... gets crazier." He said and Christian started laughing.
"I'm ready for it." He said and I looked up at him with a sweet smile. I swear that I'm so in love with this man.
"You know if she wasn't my sister, I'd think she was crazy." Kalen said out of nowhere which made me glare at him.
"Boy, go get your sweaty butt in the shower." I told him and he laughed, walking away to the bathroom. I then turned to Christian and said, "You should take a shower too. You stinky."
Christian laughed and nodded as he let go of me. "I'll let you keep doing your thing. I love you."
"I love you too." I told him and he then walked to the bedroom so that he could get into the shower as well.

Everything was finally set up for the party and the only thing that was left to do was for me to get dressed. Christian and Kalen were already prepared and were watching TV in the living room until everyone arrived.
I was sitting in Christian's room, finishing my hair and makeup so that I could put on my outfit for tonight.
