A Day To Remember

Yana's POV:
I woke up alone in bed and in the dark bedroom.I closed my eyes and decided to stay like that for a few more minutes when suddenly I remembered that it was Elijah's birthday.I jumped out of the bed wanting to see where he is.

As I opened the bedroom's door a smell of cooking was coming toward me.

I walked barefoot to the kitchen where I spotted an old woman being busy in it.The kitchen looked pretty messy and pots and pans where everywhere to be seen.

As the woman turned,I smiled and so she did and she politely introduced herself"Good morning,my name's Lidia Jonas!"And then I immediately remembered Elijah telling me about her.

"I'm Yana Claude."I introduced myself too friendly."Elijah hired me to prepare the dinner for his birthday party."Lidia informed me."Yeah,he told me about that...if you need any help feel free to ask."I tried to offer my help."Oh no,it's alright,I got this."She assured me.

I was about to turn around and leave when suddenly Elijah approached me sweating and dressed completely different as I know him,he was dressed in black Adidas sports shorts and a white Adidas shirt.

"Oh,mornin' mon amour!"He said with a husky voice and gave me a kiss on the lips,I smiled through it and wish a happy birthday.

He wrapped his arm around my waist and he introduced me to Mrs.Jonas"She's my girlfriend Yana."Mrs.Jonas smiled and said"We already met."Elijah looked at me and asked"You wanna go out?"I nodded and accepted,because I knew the guests will arrive in the evening.

Elijah and I took a shower together and got ourselves ready for the day.

Before we left,we announced Lidia that she can call us anytime.

First we had breakfast at a café,then we went out for a long walk in Central Park where we also took some picture of us.Then we grab some ice cream,I had strawberry flavor and Elijah caramel.

"You know what I really like to do now?"Elijah asked me while we were eating ice cream on a bench,I shook my head.

"How about we go horse riding?"He suggested politely.I didn't answer at first until Elijah said"If you want to of course."And he said that like the decision demanded on me.

"Of course,it's your birthday so why don't we do something fun."I responded being completely positive."

Elijah's lips turned into a smile.

We drove to GallopNYC.

One of the employees knew Elijah personally and he led us to Elijah's private horse in the barn

It was the same one as in the picture I saw when I slept for the first time at Elijah's place.

"I think Cold has missed you a lot."Zack the employee remarked with a smile.

Elijah showed me how to introduce myself to Colt by taking my hand letting him sniff it before it touched the back of my hand with his nose.

Zack prepared Colt for the riding while Elijah and I changed our foot wear.

Elijah showed me how to climb up on Colt and I followed his instructions carefully.

He climbed up behind me and took the reins in his hands.

"Alright,are you ready?"Elijah asked me curiously.I nodded confidently and he lightly tapped the hindquarters of Colt making him walk.

We rode together around the area until Elijah let me ride alone while guiding me.

After an hour,we brought Colt back in the barn,said goodbye to him and drove back to the city.

"Did you have fun?"Elijah wanted to know on the way.I nodded and gave him a positive answer."What do you want do now?"I asked him letting him choose again since it was his birthday.

"I don't really know...you have any ideas?"He replied concentrating on the way.

"Cinema?"I proposed casually when suddenly the handsfree system rang.

Mrs.Jonas was calling.

Elijah answered and she apologized sincerely for bothering us and explained that she'll be needing one more tube of cream for the cake.

Elijah watched me and I watched him,I nodded with a smile.

He assured her that he'll buy it and so we stopped quickly at a supermarket and bought the cream.

Thirty minutes later...
We took the elevator and reached our apartment.

As we entered the kitchen,Mrs.Jonas was relieved to see us and thanked before she apologized again.

"I'll be back,I'm going to the restroom."Elijah excused himself.

"Will this tube of cream really help?"I asked while taking a bottle of water out of the beverage fridge.

"Ooh yeah.I used four tubes,but it looks like it wasn't enough."She explained while I watched her adding in the bowl the extra cream we bought.

Suddenly she said"Elijah must be happy to have you."I gave her smile in response.

"I've never seen him smiling so brightly before."She added being happy for him.I nodded with a force smile and replied"He told me that...he didn't have a happy childhood"

Mrs.Jonas nodded in agreement with a face that showed sympathy.

She stopped from what she was doing and lowered her voice a bit speaking"Mr.Leonte was always harsh on him and Ezekiel,plus as you might know...Elijah lost his parents when he was four."I nodded thoughtfully in affirmation.

"He's a good guy and deserves to be happy."Mrs.Jonas said to me with a smile when she remarked that Elijah was coming toward us,I smiled too.

"You still want to see a movie."Elijah asked when was in front of us,I nodded and we left.
