It was Sunday and after spending all day on Saturday in front of the Television crying until I couldn't anymore. I was planning on doing the same today. However, Joe had other plans for me "You can't mope around here all break" I turned to look at him "What else am I supposed to do?" He sat down beside me "Why don't you go see your friends in Hawkins?" I was about to tell him what a stupid idea that was but something stopped me, because when I thought it over, it wasn't such a bad idea "That might not be a bad idea Brother!" Getting away from LA for a bit may be a great idea, plus it gives me the chance to see Mom and spend Thanksgiving with her
"Just ring Peter... He'll wire you the money to fly out there no doubt" Joe grabbed the phone, holding it out to me "I'll call him later... You just want me out of here don't you? So you can have the place to yourself" He laughed
"You know being alone here is boring as hell... It's quiet without Tabatha and Charlotte screaming all the time" I had to agree, the place was eerily quiet. I took the phone "Fine, I'll get out of your hair" I took the phone from Joe and he read out the number for Carols Mom's house "Hello?"
"Hi, I wondered if Peter was about, it's his daughter calling" there was silence and some muffling "Hi Kat, how is everything?" My Dad asked as he came on the line "Yeah everything's fine. Erm I was just wondering if it would be cool if I went back to Hawkins for the break"
"Back to Hawkins? You and Billy?" He asked. I looked to Joe "Actually just me..."
"Oh? Is everything ok"
"Erm.." I wanted to lie, I didn't want this conversation over the phone but what was I supposed to say "We broke up"
"Really?" He sounded surprises
"Yeah really Dad... I don't want to talk about it though and he's left the house so don't worry about that" I explained "I just want to see Mom" Dad seemed to understand "I'll wire you some money. Get yourself a return flight but take as much time as you need. I'm sure Nina and your friends in Hawkins will love to see you" I smiled
"Yeah, it's been a while. Thanks Dad" after getting off the phone I headed upstairs to shower and pack. Joe knocked on the door as I was about to dry my hair "Peter called back. He's booked your flights on his airline account.. worked out cheaper"
"Oh great thanks"
"I'll drop you at the airport if you like? I think he said your flight was around four" he offered
"That would be great thanks Joe" I smiled at him and he left the room. Back to Hawkins it was....
