It was Sunday night and I was walking over to Billy's house. He had to watch his Step Sister Max for the evening for the last ever time so I told him I'd join him "Hi" Billy stated when he answered the door "Hey" I stepped inside and closed the door behind me. I followed him into the living room where I saw Max sat with her skateboard on her lap, whilst she tried to loosen up the wheels. She looked up at us "You know your Dad will be super pissed off if he knows she's here" I looked back at Billy "Dad can be as pissed off as he wants.. What have I got to lose?" he asked her. I went and sat down on the couch beside her but she stood up "I'll leave you two to it" she charged towards the front door "Max. Where are you going? I'm supposed to be watching you" Billy called to her "You know what I don't care" I stood up and walked by Billy heading out to get Max "Max?" I called her as she got to the end of the drive "What is it? What's wrong?" I got to the bottom of the drive "Nothing's wrong... I just. Tonight's probably going to be the last time you and Billy see each other. I don't want to be in the way" I smiled at her "Don't tell him that though... I'll be at the arcade.. I promise I'll be back before my Mom and Neil get home"
"You're a good kid Max" she nodded as she jumped onto her skateboard
"See you later Kat" I watched her skate off and then turned back to the house. Billy was watching me from the door, his arms folded "She'll be back before Susan and Neil. She promised me. She just wanted to leave us alone" I told him untangling his arms from his chest and wrapping them around my own waist. I pushed him backwards into the house and kicked the door shut behind us. Billy pushed me against the closed door and pressed his lips to mine.

Max came in around sevenish "Are you two decent?" she called from the hallway
"Yeah Max" I replied as I pulled my head up from Billy's chest and sat up straight on the couch "Are you ok?" Billy rolled his eyes at me and I shoved him before going out into the hallway "Fine.. You know Neil and Mom are going to be back any minute" I swallowed as Billy came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pressed his lips into the crook of my neck "You're both gross" she walked by us and headed up the stairs. I turned around to face Billy "She's right you know. You want me to walk you home?" he asked
"I'll be fine"
"Nah..Wait at the end of the road. I'll come meet you as soon as my Dad's home" I rolled my eyes and he stepped forward locking his lips with mine "Hmmm" I murmured
"I love you" I smiled at him
"I love you too" he let go of me and I went and slipped my shoes on.

"Jesus Billy. Take your time" I announced as he walked over to me "It's freezing"
"Sorry, Dad was asking me where I was going and he wouldn't let it go until Susan called him away to do something" I slipped my hand into his "Where's my jacket?"
"Your jacket?" he smirked
"Yes my jacket.. The denim one"
"I left it at home, it was pretty warm earlier on" I lent my head on his shoulder as we walked together.

Billy's POV

I looked around my room one last time making sure I hadn't left anything behind before Susan knocked on my door and came in "I made you some Breakfast" I grabbed my leather jacket from the back of my door and slipped it on, feeling the pockets to make sure I had the keys to Kat's Mom's place before turning to face Susan "You know we're only doing this because we care about you?" I shook my head at her
"You never once stuck up for me Susan.." I charged by her and went into the kitchen where my Dad was sat reading the newspaper. I sat down "Where's Max?" I asked as Susan came down and started serving up everyone bacon and eggs "She's at school"
"You realise since you totalled your car me and Susan have been having to ferry her to and from" I stiffened my jaw "What? like it's not your responsibility?" Susan sat down next to me and asked if I wanted any Orange juice. I shook my head and tucked into my food. After a few minutes of us all sat in silence, the door bell rang. My Dad threw down the paper he was reading and looked at his watch "That must be your ride" I looked up at my Dad as Susan went to answer the door
"My ride?" I questioned putting my fork down
"Yes.. You didn't think I'd trust you making your own way to the airport did you?" I looked over to the doorway as Chief Hopper walked in. "Hopper offered to watch you and make sure you get on that plane" I swallowed
"You're not serious?" I questioned standing up
"Oh I'm serious" I studied my Father for a moment and then looked around me for an escape route "Come on kid. We don't want to miss that flight now do we" Hopper announced
"You can't do this" I spoke looking at my Dad. I turned and ran through the hallway to the backdoor but Hopper was onto me. I thought I'd be able to take him but he pinned my arms around my back and cuffed me before dragging me backwards and towards the front door "Looks like you're finally getting what you wanted" I shouted up the driveway to my Dad who was watching from the doorway "A new family... Without me and without Mom" he looked mad at the statement and slammed the door shut as Hopper threw me into the back of the cop car "Are you going to uncuff me or what?" I asked him as we drove towards the airport
"No. Not until you've calmed down" I kicked the back of the seat angrily.
