Chapter Fifty

The Summer was going amazingly well. It was the last week before me and Jen started College and we were helping her move into her dorm room. Her Mom had flown over as well to help out "Right, what does everyone want?" Jen's Mom Cath asked, she'd promised us a starbucks "Something with ice" Jen replied. It was super hot in LA today and moving boxes from Cath's rental car to Jen's dorm on the fourth floor was not helping "Ok, I'll be back soon" Billy appeared in the room with yet another box of Jen's belongings "Do you really need all of this shit?" He asked as he placed the box down and wiped the sweat from his forehead
"Yes Bills! I do!" She nudged him out of the way

"When we're done here I've got a surprise for everyone"
"A surprise?" I asked intrigued
"It's not huge but I thought it would be fun" Jen raised an eyebrow
"Does it involve a pool or an ice bath?" She asked. Billy smiled
"No but there'll be Air conditioning" Jen smiled and walked over, placing her hand on his bicep "I'm intrigued Bills" I don't know when Jen had started this weird nickname up for Billy.... Something told me she was trying to wind him up but for some reason he never told her to stop.

When we were finally finished with sorting Jen's dorm out we headed back to my Dad's to get changed for whatever surprise Billy had in store for us. Joe was also invited along, him and Jen were definitely an item now, sneaking into each others rooms most evenings and doing things I didn't really want to think about "How was work?" Jen asked him as we got into Billy's camero "Nothing exciting" Joe had been working at a local diner as a pot washer for most of the summer whilst he wasn't in college "Are you all moved in?" He asked her. I tuned out and turned to Billy "So.. you gonna tell me where we're going?" I asked placing my hand on his thigh and squeezing it lightly "You'll see" I rolled my eyes at him, leaving my hand where it was as he drove smiling to himself.

We pulled up outside of a complex "So come on?" Jen asked him "It's an arcade complex" Joe told us "Yeah it is... I got us a sweet deal, my friend Damon. He works here he's got us a private bowling booth plus free drinks and that includes alcohol.. you all up for drunk bowling?" Billy asked "Hell yeah!" Jen announced opening the car door. I smiled and got out of the car too to join her. The place was huge, there were bowling alleys, arcades and even an ice rink, which I would definitely be dragging Billy to at some point in the near future. The pool Billy worked at was just across the street as well. We headed straight to the booth Billy had gotten for us and his friend asked us what we wanted to drink and eat. We all ordered double vodkas and he returned with four soda cups "Just incase anyone else sees you underage drinking.. looks like soda" he walked away "Let me know if you want anything else" Jen smiled at him
"Maybe bring another over in five" she told him winking as he looked back at her
"On it" "You're such a god damn flirt Jen" I told her "You better be careful now you've got Joe" she laughed "Oh please... Me and Joe aren't anything serious" I raised an eyebrow
"You sure about that?" I asked her "I know you sneak into his room late at night. Me and Billy hear it""So, we're hooking up, big deal" Joe came and sat between us
"What you girls talking about?" "Just girl things. You wouldn't be interested " Jen told him "Ok, Jen's up first" Billy announced, the boards were set up and I would be going third before Billy who was last.

The evening was going well and we were having so much fun, drinking and bowling "Come on then Bills, get those muscles doing something worthwhile for once" Jen told him as he picked up the bowling ball for his go "Jen, I've been getting strikes and spares almost every round, so shut it" I looked to Jen who smirked at him
"Why do you keep calling him that?" I asked her when the boys were out of earshot. She looked at me, taking a sip of vodka from her soda cup "I don't know... I called him that once and I guess it's stuck. He doesn't mind. I think he quite likes it" I felt a little strange as I watched her turn back to the alley as Billy got another strike "See babe!" He tensed his biceps and I shook my head as Jen chuckled. I watched them, were they flirting? Surely not. It had to be the alcohol messing with my head.

Of course Billy won, Jen was second, Joe was third and I was last. If I was feeling more competitive and not drunk and distracted, I would have given Billy a run for his money. We headed to the restaurant area to get burgers and more alcohol in soda cups "This has been the best night ever. Why couldn't you have saved this for my Birthday?" Jen asked Billy who was sat opposite me "What made it so great?" Joe asked
"Well, the alcohol obviously, but also spending time with you nuts" she looked beside her to Joe, nudging him.
