My body was, I don't know what to say anymore I just feel like I couldn't move it at all, Atreus was anxious the whole morning after I get up and went to the bathroom, change into something formal.
He asked me to stay just this once but I refused, I already said yes to Izan and Annistyn that i will help today with the cases they're holding, since I was the one who suggested if they want my help, I can dig deeper for them.
Walang nagawa si Atreus kung hindi ang bumuntong hininga habang nag susuot ako ng sapatos, nilagay n'ya sa sa lunch bag ang lunch boxes ko na niluto n'ya, ngumisi ako saka lumapit sa kanya.
"I'll be back." I drop a light kiss in his cheeks before grabbing the lunch bag he's hiding in his bag with that I turned around with a smile in my lips.
See, it was easy, lumabas ako sa may gate, hinatid pa ako nito hangang labas, sumampa ako sa motor ko, nilingon ko s'ya sandali saka nagsimulang humarurot papunta sa lugar na napag usapan namin nina Izan at Annistyn.
Nang makarating ako sa harap ng restaurant ay bumaba na ako, pinarada ko sa labas ang motor ko saka pumasok sa loob, hinanap ng mga mata ko ang dalawa agad ko naman silang nakita sa may 'di kalayuan, sa isang table.
Habang palapit ako sa table nila ay mas nakita ko agad ang kanilang mukha, titig na titig ang mga mata ni Izan kay Annistyn na abala sa pagbabasa ng kung ano sa laptop n'ya. Lovesick.
"Good morning, Boss!" Masiglang bati ni Izan.
Sumulyap sa'kin si Annistyn. "Morning, Igha." Ngumiti ito sa akin.
Tipid akong ngumiti pabalik. "Morning."
Bakas sa mga itsura nila ang pagod halatang wala pa silang maayos na tulog simula ng mahawakan nila ang kasong 'to, umupo ako sa upuan sa may gitna, nagtawag si Izan ng waiter para umorder na.
"It's a poisoning case." Annistyn started.
"It shouldn't be a big deal, was it a noble?" I asked as I looked at the files.
She nodded problematicaly. "Yes, a son of a count... But the thing here is we don't have any leads or any information about the poison." She muttered in hopeless tone.
I continue reading. "Have you tried contacting all the agency under us that could look into it?"
"I tried but only twice, i can't let them find out I am looking for an unknown poison, it could be leaked out in public." She sighed frustratedly.
"Let me see the sample of it." I asked as I closed the folder.
Naglabas ito ng maliit na bote, pinicturan ko 'yon at isinend kay Khaleesi, pati na rin ang ibang mga nakalap nilang contents, she knows this better than anyone else.
"Let's just wait for her response, let's have a coffee break." Sambit ko sabay lingon kay Izan na kanina pa nainom ng kape.
Kinuha ko ang akin, may isang baso ng tubig din ang nasa lapag ko, sumimsim ako saglit sa kape na hawak ko, ilang minuto lamang ay naka received na ako ng reply kay Khaleesi.
Binasa ko ang sinend n'yang file, nang makakuha ng lead doon ay tumingin ako sa kanila.
"Did you find a weird box shape in the victim's room?" I started.
They looked at each other for a seconds. "Yes, we did it was small so we didn't bother to touch it."
I tap the table. "It's your lead for the antidote, since when did the victim had a sip from it?"
"Today will be the third day." Annistyn replied and confused.
"Great, if you find that box, the antidote is there, if he takes a sip from it, he will come back alive from the dead."
