Beyoncé's POV
'Jas baby, you're okay.' I told Jas, over and over again.

'Please don't let them take me. BeyBey, you can't let them take me." She sobbed into me, gripping tightly onto my arms.

"Hey, hey, sh, come on baby, you'll be fine. I swear." I reassured her, and partly myself, running my fingers through her curls as she pressed her face into my stomach in an attempt to suppress her sobs.

"No! Mrs Carter, you don't understand! Please!"
She begged. I looked up hearing a knock on the door. She looked behind her seeing the three people stood there, then turned back around, looking up at me with pleading eyes as I sighed, before she let out a sob and fell to the floor.

"Please, just give me a minute." I told them, crouching down next to Jasmine and engulfing her into my arms. "You're okay, you're gonna be okay. Just breathe."

"Why? That's my daughter not yours."

"Mrs Washington, let's give them a minute. Let her get herself together." Mr Fisher, the headteacher said.

"You gotta go with them baby. That's your mom." I whispered.

"No. No, please don't make me. You can't make me. Nobody can make me do anything." She sobbed harder.

"You'll be okay. She's not gonna hurt you Jas. Nobody is. I promise."

"Please Mrs Carter, I'll do anything." She begged.

"Nah, fuck this, give her here." I heard a voice boom from the other end of the classroom, startling both me and Jasmine.

"Mr Jackson- this is a school! Let's calm down." Mr Fisher said, trying to hold him back but failing as he charged past him, grabbing Jasmine by her hair as she let out a shriek, and dragging her out of my grip.

"Get off me!" She yelled, trying to reach out to me but failing as Cole picked her up and flung her over his shoulder before running off with her in the distance, her mother following not far behind.

All of a sudden, every emotion came flooding out. My eyes welled up, before very quickly spilling out down my cheeks. I tried to wipe them away but they just kept falling. I mentally cursed myself for wearing heels today, knowing my swollen ankles wouldn't be able to keep up with them. But still, I couldn't help but find some sort of connection with Jasmine, so I gave it my all.

"Leave her alone!" I tried to shout, chasing after them, my legs giving way on me as I tripped.

I couldn't shout, I couldn't scream, I couldn't even run. What was going on?  Everything was coming out as a whisper, almost like my words were trapped in the chest.

Is this how Jasmine felt?

"Mommy!" I heard in the distance. I looked around frantically, trying to figure out which direction it came from.
