It was a regular day for Jay Young, relaxing in the library and reading a fantasy book. Fantasy was one of her favorite genres, and she would never say no to a good book.

A book fell from the shelf nearby. Jay lazily sat back, as she didn't feel obliged to go over and pick it up. It was too far away and she'd just gotten into a comfortable spot. Go away, book, come back later...

She paused as she heard something and yelped as two mysterious people materialized before her. She didn't have time to react because she felt something prick her softly in the neck and everything went dark.

When Jay woke up, she was in a white, padded room. One of the walls was clear and seemed to be a door, and she could see several others rooms similar to it. The room was generally pretty small and more of a capsule than a full room. In the room across from her, she could see a small shadow in the darkness, but she wasn't quite sure.

She heard footsteps and froze.

A tall man stepped into view, wearing a black suit. His hair was tied up into what looked like a bun and he had bright green eyes that studied her as if he was looking at a fascinating art piece. He grinned at her. "Hello, darling. And who might you be?"

Jay was silent, trying to study him. She didn't like the vibe he gave off, and the fact that she was in a glorified cage and he wasn't. "What do you want?" She finally asked. "Where am I?"

"Well, you're in Prophecy's lab quarters, of course." The man grinned. "Al Lungstar. Although you should refer to me as 'The Boss' if you know what's good for you."

"You aren't the boss of me." Jay said. "This place? Maybe. But I will never listen to you. I have the feeling that you're the one who put me here in the first place."

"Well, I helped come up with the idea. But that's not the point." Al frowned at her. "I'de cooperate if I were you."

"Cooperate my ass." Jay grumbled. "I don't want to be here, I don't know why I'm here, and you describing this being a lab really isn't helping your case right now."
