When Goose found the Quarry, Jordie, Jay, Stevie, May, and Al crowded by the edge, looking down into the hole.

"That looks like it'll react with heat." Al said. "It might explode."

Jay frowned. "Then what do we do?"

"We go on the plan as usual." Al took charge. "As soon as you, Goose, and Kate are clear, I pour the lava and run for my life."

"And what if you don't make it?" May asked.

Al inhaled. "Then don't forget me."

The group nodded and Al explored the landscape before finding the tunnel Goose had spotted leading down to the cavern.

Jay and Goose potitioned themselves above the hole.

"Be careful!" Stevie shouted.

Jay nodded. "Ready?"

"Ready." Goose responded.

They both glided into the cavern, careful to avoid the crystals that practicaly coated the walls.

Goose cursed. There was a giant crystal in the center of the cavern and there, in the center, Kate's figure was barely visible.

Jay narrowed her eyes as she spotted a safe spot to land that was noticeably towards the crystal in the center.

Jay noticed that Kate had the palms of her hands pressed flat against the inside of the crystal, but it was hard to tell if the crystal was actually hollow or not.

Jay inched a bit closer, very aware that she was approaching the danger line.

"Are you alright?" Jay called, not knowing is Kate could hear her.

"Er...yeah..." Kate looked relatively uncomfortable.

"It's alright." Jay murmured. "We'll get you out."

"I wish that were true." Kate murmured.

"What..?" Jay stared at her in confusion, then let out a screech and Kate lunged and grabbed Jay's arm.
