"Detention!"
"But Professor..."
"There is no need for a discussion, Miss (Y/l/n)."
"But he called Hermione..."
"I am fully aware of what Mr. Malfoy had called her. That's why he will serve detention just as the rest of you."
Malfoy looked at Professor McGonagall with narrowed eyes.
"Excuse me, professor, perhaps I heard you wrong. I thought you said I will serve detention, too."
"No, you heard me correctly, Mr. Malfoy. You will join your classmates in detention."
"But I am the victim!", Malfoy said. "If my father will hear about this..."
"He will be pleased that we do not accept this kind of crude language at our school.", Professor McGonagall interrupted him. "Even though the behaviour of your classmates has been unacceptable, yours was as well. No go to the hospital wing Mr. Malfoy, Madame Pomfrey will take care of you. And you." Professor McGonagall turned around to Ron, Hermione and you. "I am absolutely disappointed by your behaviour. I am fully aware that Mr. Malfoys choice of words was inexcusable, but I would have expected the students of my house to keep a clear head. Especially the two of you." Her gaze was fixed on Hermione and you. "Now off to your room, all of you. And if anyone of you will make one wrong move again, you would wish to get just another detention."
The three of you left glumly.
Especially because the entire situation hadn't been your fault at all. It was all Malfoys. Ron, Hermione and you had just dropped off Harry at the Quidditch pitch. You had been on your way to the castle, when suddenly Malfoy appeared. At first, he was making just his usual cruel comments. But then he took it too far. While Ron wanted to react, Hermione grabbed him by his hand and dragged him away.
"Oh yeah, take your filthy mudblood girlfriend and leave Weaselbee."
But what Malfoy didn't have foreseen, were the three curses you had hexed on him simultaneously, as soon as he had said the M-word. You weren't quite sure which spells Hermione and Ron had used, but the mixture out of these three curses didn't suited Malfoy very well. It looked as if some bilious green tentacles sprouted out of his body. But after a short shock, because you didn't meant to actually hurt Malfoy, you realized that, except for his strange looks, he wasn't actually damaged, you started laughing really hard. It just looked hilarious. Malfoy standing there, not even able to grab his wand because his hands were covered by the tentacles just as the rest of his body. But your joy didn't lasted long, because Professor McGonagall had seen the entire scene. And that's how you got here.
On the way back to your dorm, Hermione reproached herself.
"I shouldn't have lost control.", she mumbled again and again. You put your arm around her shoulder to comfort her.
"Don't worry. You had every right to do so. Malfoy's an idiot. He deserved this. And if someone was allowed to react like this, then it's you."
Hermione shot you a thankful glance.
"And besides", Ron added, "The look on Malfoys face was absolutely worth it. I hope he gets to keep those tentacles for some time."
You chuckled. "Wish I would have had a camera."
Ron nodded in confirmation. "But I'll never forget this anyway. After this I can even live with some detention. Besides, I think he should be thankful. He looked way better than he normally does."
In this point, you had to disagree with your friend. Even though you detested Malfoy with every fibre of your body, you couldn't deny that, apart from his ugly personality, the pale boy with the delicate facial-features looked really handsome. You would never admit it though. And besides, even if he would be the most beautiful person in the world, which was, in your eyes, not even that unlikely, that wouldn't make up his character at all. At least that's what you thought.
