Chapter 6

"Cap!" Althea called out to Steve as she was chasing after him. "Come on wait up!" She called after the ex soldier who was not stopping. He sighed while stopping and turn to look at the goddess who was breathing heavily.

"Did you walk or sprint?" She asked him rhetorically still trying to catch her breath. He sighed and shook his head. "What is it Althea?" He asked clearly pissed off from his interaction with Tony.

"What are you gonna do now?" She asked Steve who let out a sigh knowing she will not stop till she knows what he intends to do. "I m gonna find out what Fury's hiding." He replied and turn to leave but she caught his arm. "I m coming too."

"Althea you might get fired." Steve said to her in concern which surprised her considering they haven't known each for more than 48 hours. "Haven't you heard? Tony offered me a job with a good pay check." She said with a smile  and walked towards where Fury would store all of the private files.

Steve caught her arm which made her look at him. She met his eyes which held alot of emotions. She could feel a unknown feeling bubbling up in her. She quickly brushed it off and raised her eyebrow at him. "Come on cap! Let's beat Jarvis!" She said while  taking  Steve's arm that was on hers and pulling him towards the room.

She guided Steve towards the room where she saw Agent Hill standing there. "shit!" She cussed out  and pulled him into an empty room. "I really hope you're not claustrophobic." She said realizing how stuffed the room was. Her back was completely pressed against his chest. She started to feel really hot all of a sudden. She didn't know if  it was because there was no air conditioning in the room or because of the situation they were in.

She slowly peeked out of the room to see the hallway was empty. "Come on, old man! We have a place to break into." She stated to the ex soldier who was still in the room. "You make us sound like bank robbers." He rolled his eyes and said to her.

"I m pretty sure the sentence we will be  serving is much more worse than bank robbers." She said to Steve who gave her an odd look. They walked towards the door which was locked and required a password. He glance at the goddess thinking she had the password to it.

"What? Oh you think I have the password? Dude don't you think I would've broken in sooner if I had the password!" She exclaimed which amused him. "Just break it!" She gestured towards the handle and he broke it using his hand.

"For an old man you still have your strength." She stated patting his arm which made him shot her an annoyed look. "How old are you?" Steve asked her as they made their way in looking around. "When I was a goddess I was more than 1000 years old. I lost count after I reached the age of 1000 but as a human I m 20." She replied which made him look at her with wide eyes.

"Yet you call me an old man." He said in surprise  which made her let out a chuckle shaking her head. He smiled looking at her which made her blush . Steve suddenly jumped on one of the metal crate  and leaped on to the railing. He gestured for her to do the same and extended his hand  which made her scoff. She jumped on to one of the metal crate and leaped on to the railing and landed effortlessly.

She smirked at Steve who smiled shaking his head. They walked further and noticed a room that contained alot of boxes. Steve broke the door handle and walked in first, Althea trailing behind him. "This is gonna take a long time to go through." She groaned upon seeing all of the boxes.

"Althea you said something about Phase 2 to Tony? What was that about?" Steve asked the goddess who crouching down and opening one of the boxes. "When we first noticed the Tesseract was misbehaving Fury ordered Agent Hill to make sure all of Phase 2 pieces are shipped off." She replied  while looking through the box.
