Chapter 53

Althea walked in to the Avengers compound hoping she wouldn't run in to a pissed off Tony. She walked in to the living room to see it was dark. She let out a relief sigh but it disappeared the moment the lights flicked on. Tony was seated on the couch with his figure four lock and his hand supporting his chin.

"Okay, so are we gonna just stare at each other or you gonna go to the confrontation part?" She asked him as she took a couple of steps forward. He let out a sigh before standing up. "What were you thinking? Hiding this from me!" He raised his voice.

"Because I know you'd yell at him. You're forgetting that he's a kid Tony. You can't expect him to do better if you're not letting him learn from his mistakes." She explained calmly not wanting the situation to escalate.

"Why do you think I took his suit away? I want him to learn from his mistakes! But sometimes mistakes leads to death! You know how it felt when it happened to us. Do you really want the kid to go through the same?" He raised his voice again. She let out a sigh. "Fine, Tony! You're right. I'm wrong." She said before walking away. She was tired and wasn't really in the mood to argue.

"Hey, don't you walk away from me!" She heard Tony saying as he followed her. "Tony, I don't really have the energy to argue with you now." She stopped and said to him. "Well, I do." He stated which made her roll her eyes.

"What more do you want, Tony?" She raised her voice asking him which suprised him, seeing as she was calm a minute ago. "Thea—" He started but she stopped by raising her hand. "What more do you want? You broke the Avengers apart. Nat's somwhere far away from here, living alone. Steve and Sam, I don't even know where they're. Wanda, Wanda was just a kid! And you locked her in this place! Everyone's broken apart. So I'm asking you what more do you want?" She asked him. He stared at her with wide eyes. Her words ringing through his ears. A look of defeat in her face.

She walked away leaving a shocked Tony. She opened her room door and walked in to her room and closed the door behind her. She slid back against the door. She covered her mouth using her hand as she sobbed. She didn't know why she snapped at him. She didn't blame him for any of this and the words that she just said to him would beg to differ.

She heard someone knocking on her door and she had an idea who might that be. "Thea, let me in. I'm not leaving till we talk." She wiped her tears away before standing up and opening the door. Tony's face softened at her sight. He has seen her this broken only once and it was when Phil died.

He didn't wait for a moment before pulling her towards him. He held her tight as she sobbed in to his chest. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean any of it. I'm sorry." Tony could hear her saying as he soothingly ran his hand on her hair in order to calm her down. "I know. I know. I m sorry too." He apologized as he held her tight not letting her go.

Althea woke up to see, she was asleep on Tony shoulder while he was on his phone. She lifted her head from his shoulder which made him look at her, to see she was awake. He gave her a bright smile which made her smile too. Last night events flooded through her.

"Tony, I didn't mean anything I said. I was angry. I really was. I feel like I've been for a while and I've just been good at hiding it. Last night, I was tired, angry, frustrated, disappointed and needed someone to blame. And I blamed you.. I'm sorry. I really am." She apologized to Tony who smiled at her. He reached his hand up to her cheek and cupped it. He wiped her tears away before pulling his hand away.

"If you're done crying like a baby, you have a job to get to." Tony said which made her roll her eyes at him before playfully pushing him away. He ruffled her messy hair and smiled at her before walking away.

Althea was seated in her class room feeling incredibly tired and she still had two more classes to go through. She heard someone knocking on her door which made her look up to see Peter and Ned. She smiled at both of them and gestured them to come in.
