Chapter 9

"When you said you needed me on something, I thought maybe we will be you know creating cure for cancer or maybe even create a car than runs on fricking water. Not creating suits!" Althea exclaimed to Tony and Bruce for the hundredth time today.

Bruce and Tony rolled their eyes not paying her any attention. They had gotten used to her nagging and complaining. Althea has been staying over with them for a week now and all they've ever did was making suits or improving them.

She also noticed that Tony hasn't been sleeping. The only thing he does is work. She couldn't even remember the last time she saw him eat. It's been worrying her down alot.

"You know we should go out." Althea stated dropping Tony's thrusters that she was working on. "Hey!" Tony exclaimed looking at her for dropping his thrusters. "I have a cool idea for the suit but I will only share it if we go out to eat now." She said to Tony who rolled his eyes.

"You're bluffing." Tony said and continued doing his work. "Maybe I am? Maybe I m not? But you won't really know will you?" Althea said trying to get into Tony's head knowing this will most likely make him get out from the lab.

Tony was silent for about a minute before getting up from his seat abruptly which made Althea smirk knowing she got into his head. "Fine! Meet me in the lobby in 10!" Tony said and left the lab clearly annoyed by Althea.

Althea look towards Bruce who gave her an disapproving look. "What? He's been holed up in the lab for four days straight. I can't remember the last time I saw him sleep. He needs this." Althea explained to Bruce who let out a sigh.

"Althea when are you gonna learn that its better to let people deal with things by themselves." Bruce said to her. "He's my friend Bruce. I can't just leave him like that." Althea argued.

"He's dealing with it on his own way." Bruce argued back clearly frustrated by her meddlings. "Can't you see!he's not dealing with it at all!" Althea exclaimed to Bruce.

"How would you know when you're not even dealing with yours?" Bruce raised his voice at her. "What does that mean?" Althea asked confused. She didn't understand what Bruce was talking about.

"I m taking about T." He said to her. Althea's eyes widened in disbelief. "He found you, didn't he?" Althea asked him clearly shocked from his revelation.

"A week after you left for SHEILD. He found me. He looked heartbroken Thea. Do you think what you did was right?" Bruce asked her while taking a couple of steps towards her. "I did what needed to be done." Althea said calmly. She knew what she did was wrong but it needed to be done.

"Could you honestly tell me that you forgot about him?" Bruce asked her raising his voice again. "And this thing with captain. What are you doing Althea?" Bruce added to her

"I did. I m fine. I forgot about him. As to about Steve there's nothing there!" Althea exclaimed to Bruce clearly frustrated by his assumption. "I've known you for the longest time Althea. Do not lie to me!" Bruce raised his voice at her coming face to face with her. Althea flinched at his tone which made Bruce take a couple of steps back.

"Even if something is there it's none of your fucking business." Althea said her tone laced with anger. "What are you both doing? I've been waiting for 10 whole minutes!" Tony exclaimed as he barged into the lab.

Althea and Bruce stepped away from each other. Tony noticed the tension between them and raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Did something happen?" Tony asked to them in confusion.

"No. Nothing happened." Althea said and took her jacket that was draped over her chair  and made her way out. Bruce trailing behind her.

"I'll have a cheeseburger." Althea said to the waitress and offered her a smile. "I'll have that too." Tony said from beside her. "I'll have the salad." Bruce said sitting from opposite of them. The waitress nodded at them and left to take other orders.
