Althea was waiting for Steve to come out of his room so that they can go running together or more like he flies she runs. It's been extremely frustrating for her to keep up with him so she decided to let him do what he does and she runs as a normal person does.
She opened the bathroom door to see Steve standing there with a towel around his waist shaving his facial hair. "I m so sorry!" Althea said and immediately turned around. Her face was red as a tomato.
She mentally cursed herself. "Why didn't you knock?" Steve asked her as he washed his face off. "Why didn't you lock the door?" She shot back and immediately closed the door. She leaned her back against the door and smiled.
To say she had gotten used to him being this attractive for a year would be a lie. She had even developed a crush for him but she knew he did not reciprocate her feelings. He has been so nice to her this whole year of living together. He makes her breakfast before she even gets up and leaves cute notes which she kept as memories in a box.
He drives her everyday to work and pick's her up too. He waits for her if she comes late to home after working long hours in SHEILD. Each time Steve looks at her Althea could feel a certain fire igniting within her.
She didn't know how long she can keep up with this. "Thea, let's go." Althea heard Steve say which made her leave her room and walked towards him. She didn't meet his gaze the entire walk to the park where they usually run knowing it would be awkward after the encounter they just had.
"Hi, I m Althea." She introduced herself as she ran beside a man that she sees everyday when she's running with Steve but today she decided to talk to him. "Hey. Sam Wilson." The man turn to look at her and shot her a smile.
"On your left." Steve said as he started running so fast past them. "He gets on your nerve too, doesn't he?" She said while running catching up to Sam. "Yes, very much." She heard him grumble which made her let out a chuckle.
"On your left." Steve said again and ran past them again. "I m gonna kill him." She grumbled out loud frustrated by Steve. "Uh uh. On my left. Got it." Sam shouted after Steve.
Sam started running faster than he usually does to catch up to Steve which made Althea do the same she channelled the wind around her to give her a boost to keep up with Sam. "Don't say it. Don't say it." Sam said as he turned and saw Steve running.
"On your left." Steve said again which made her let out a groan. "Come on." She heard Sam yell from beside her and started running even more fast than he already did.
Althea started heaving as she couldn't keep up with both men. She went and sat down at the trunk of a tree breathing heavily and cursing Steve. She saw as Sam came and collapsed beside her.
"Need a medic?" Steve asked as he came to a stop beside the tree they were sitting on. "Shut up!" She snapped at Steve and shot him a glare. Steve just gave her an amused look.
"I need a new set of lungs. Dude you just ran like 13 miles in 30 minutes." Sam said and let out a chuckle. "Really, guess I got a late start." Steve responded which made her roll her eyes
"If I had any energy left I would kick your ass." She said to Steve. "Really you should be ashamed of yourself. You should take another lap. Did you just take it? I assume you just took it." Same said to Steve which made her let out a laugh.
"What unit you with?" Steve asked Sam who was still breathing heavily. "58th pararescue. But now I m working down at the VA." Sam said as he extended his hand to Steve who pulled him up. Althea remained in her seat too tired to walk. "Steve Rogers." Steve introduced himself to Sam
"Sam Wilson. I kind of put that together when she said her name was Althea." Sam said and gestured towards Althea who pushed herself up and leaned against the tree still tired to move.
