Chapter 58

Althea was laying her head on Steve's chest while he was caressing her hair. She looked up and smiled at him which confused him. "What?" He asked her with a smile. "Nothing. This right here. This is perfect." She stated which made him kiss her head.

Suddenly her phone rang which made her groan loudly. Steve chuckled at her reaction which made her slap his chest. "Ouch!" He groaned in pain which made her smirk before picking up the call. "Hey, Miss A." She heard Ned's voice coming from the other side.

"Yes, what is it, Ned?" She asked him sitting up from the bed and leaning against the headboard. "We kinda have a problem here." He started hesitantly which made her pinch the bridge of her nose. Steve sat up and leaned beside her with a confused look on his face.

"What did you do?" She asked her student through gritted teeth which made Ned nervously gulp before looking around him at a half burnt Gary's lab. Gary was pacing relentlessly while Peter was trying to calm down her former assistant.

"Peter and I were playing around with some of Mr Barton's arrow and one of them exploded in—" He trailed off knowing she'd not be pleased with what he was about to say. Althea knew what happened before Ned even finished his sentence. She groaned internally knowing she's gonna get yelled at by Tony for even hiring Peter and Ned as interns.

"Let me guess it exploded in the lab." She finished for him. "Yes, Miss A." He admitted which made her sigh. "Ned honey, where was Gary when both of you decided to play Hawkeye?" She asked calmly which scared Ned who looked around again. "He was—he was— he was telling us where to aim it." He revealed which made her angrier than she already was.

"Ned honey please pass the phone to Gary." She said which made her student let out a relieved sigh knowing he's not the one who's gonna get yelled at. "Hey, Miss Althea. How was your vacation?" Gary asked faking his enthusiasm. "I'm gonna kill you!" She screamed which caused even Steve to jump at the sound of her voice. He looked at her in suprise not expecting her to be this mad.

"I knew! I knew the minute both of them started interning for you it's gonna be bad news but I trusted you! I trusted that you won't burn another lab that was under your supervision!"  She yelled at him which made him wince. "Well, Miss Althea technically I didn't burn the lab this time." He reasoned which pissed her off even more. Steve cringed from beside her knowing that was the worst defense Gary could ever use.

"Technically, I'm about to throw your ass from New York to the stairs of Valhalla." She raised her voice which made him wince. "Thea, calm down." Steve said putting his hand on her thigh which was earned by one of the deadliest glare he has ever seen her shot at him. He immediately removed his hand.

She took a deep breath knowing Steve's right. "Gary honey I thought you'd be more responsible than this." She sighed and said. "I'm sorry, miss Althea." He apologized which made her smile. "It's fine Gary. I'll talk to Tony while you three fix this mess. And when I come back I want the lab to be just as I saw before I left." She said in a threatening tone which made Gary agree quickly.

She let out a sigh before hanging up. "You're scary when you're angry." Steve stated which made her smile before snuggling close to him. He let out a chuckle before wrapping his arms around her. "I love you." He said and kissed her forehead. "I love you too." She said back and pecked his lips. He let out a chuckle before pulling her close to him which made her giggle.

Althea and Tony looked down from the second floor of the ship to see Ebony using his powers to stick needless in to Stephen. She looked away not being able to see her friend being tortured. Suddenly something tapped on her shoulder which made her to immediately turn and raise her hands. Tony Doing the same. They immediately relaxed seeing that it was just Stephen's cloak.
