Never Go Against the Family

Thanksgiving 2022...

Disney+ approached us to start filming a Kardashian style documentary about our life, so now, not only are we followed by the paparazzi, but also a film crew. You get used to it after a while, but Rose still pulls funny faces at the camera whenever she can. Since she's gotten a little older, Scarlett is a lot more lenient on allowing her to be on the documentary. Acting is something Rose has shown a real passion in, as well as singing, so Scarlett is allowing her to embrace that.

The whole family is over, even Scarlett's family, which is great considering we never get to see them. Daisy and her family came, and Tate's here because she couldn't get home, little does she know that we flew her Mam and brother in from Montana to surprise her. I haven't gone down yet, I'm still getting ready, and I'm super nervous.

Scarlett: Hey, you coming?
Me: I'll be a minute.

I put my watch on as Scarlett comes into the dressing room. She comes over and takes the watch, placing it on my wrist for me.

Scarlett: They're going to love you.
Me: I know, I know. I just...I don't know how to explain it. It's just weird having my family here, and then my actual family here too. It's just...
Scarlett: Overwhelming?
Me: How do you always know how to finish my sentences?
Scarlett: I know you're nervous, and probably a bit scared, which is definitely something I've never seen you be since we met, but it's going to be okay. What's not to love? You're smart, successful, beautiful, kind...
Me: Okay, shut up now, it's getting too deep.
Scarlett: All I'm saying is that you have nothing to worry about. And, if you're feeling a bit over-stimulated, just text me, and I'll come and show you my boobs okay?
Me: Actually, come to think of it, I'm feeling really over-stimulated right now, like it's unbearable.
Scarlett: Enough, c'mon, let's go.

I take a deep breath and head downstairs, where Daisy is the first to come over and greet me. We hug.

Daisy: Hey, it's so good to see you.
Me: Yeah, you too. You look well. So who's here?
Daisy: C'mon, I'll take you to meet them.

We walk over to her family, who I think can tell I'm nervous as hell.

Daisy: So this is my Mam, Jane.

We hug.

Jane: It's so nice to meet you finally.
Daisy: And this is my Nan, Theresa.

She comes over and hugs me tightly, it feels so homely.

Theresa: I can't believe I've flown all the way here at my age to finally meet you.
Daisy: And this is um, my brother, James.

He stands and looks me up and down, and shakes my hand, but says nothing. Frosty.

Me: I guess I should introduce you to everyone then. So this is my wife, Scarlett, and my kids, Rose and Cosmo. Then you have my adoptive family; Deb, my Mam, Perrie and Alex, my brother in law and sister, Axel, my nephew. Then there's Vanessa, Adrian, Hunter and Christian, Scarlett's siblings. Her parents couldn't make it. But finally, this is a really good friend of mine, Tate.

They all greet each other.

Scarlett: You had nothing to worry about.
Me: I know, but it's just a bit mad you know.

Just then, the doorbell rings.

Me: Oh, Tate I think you should get that.

Tate goes to the door, confused.
