Me: Okay, ready?
Cosmo: Nope.

I look down and see his hands are shaking a little, so I crouch down to his level and pull him in.

Me: Sweetie, you've got this. You are so, so good at everything you do. We have this nailed. If you get scared, just look at me and remember that I've done this in front of like 90,000 people before with you standing with me, this is nothing for you. Your song is amazing, we're gonna crush it. Okay?
Cosmo: Got it. Okay, we've got this.

The presenter introduces us and we walk on stage, Cosmo sits down with his guitar next to me.

Me: Okay, hi everyone. Um, I was supposed to be down there watching with you all, but Cosmo wrote a great song, and he asked me to sing it so he could focus on his guitar skills. So I hope you enjoy it, this is called When You Love Someone.

I pull away from the microphone slightly.

Me: Ready bud?

He nods and starts playing.

He stops playing guitar and I notice he starts crying, so I instantly pull him into me and let him sob as I kiss his head. Eventually, after the long cheer, I manage to get him off stage.

Me: Are you okay?
Cosmo: I just don't like this anymore.

He starts crying again and rests his head in my shoulder.

Me: I know, honey. I know, me neither. I'm sorry for everything.

Hailee comes backstage, having filmed the whole thing on my phone and sends it to Scarlett. She hugs Cosmo and wipes his eyes with her sleeve.

Hailee: You did so, so good. You know that right? You played the hell out of that guitar.
Cosmo: Thanks Haiz.
Scarlett: You didn't have to send that.

Scarlett peers out from behind the curtain sheepishly as Cosmo grabs back onto me, not wanting to look at her.

Scarlett: That was really good, Cos.
Me: You're supposed to be in Paris on your honeymoon or whatever it is you're on with him.
Scarlett: I couldn't do it, so I came back overnight.
Me: Chivalrous of you. As you can see, we're fine.
