Family Time

5 June 2022, my birthday...

Scarlett is back home after being away for a couple of months filming. My whole family are here and I've arranged to FaceTime my cousin, Daisy, to meet her for the first time.

Scarlett: Okay, you ready to call?
Me: Mhm.
Scarlett: Just shout over if you need anything okay?
Me: Yeah, got it.

I start calling her number and she answers straight away, she looks exactly like me.

Daisy: "Hi."
Me: "Hi."

There's silence.

Me: "I'm so sorry, I think I'm just really nervous. How are you?"
Daisy: "Yeah, me too. I'm good, yeah, just a little overwhelmed to be honest. I've watched you in Switch and How to Get Away with Murder thinking that you look exactly like me, and now I find out you're actually my cousin. It's a bit crazy."
Me: "Yeah, I didn't know you existed either, so thank you for calling my team."
Daisy: "Yeah, of course. Happy birthday by the way. You have your family there right?"
Me: "Yeah, bit of a small get together seeing as we haven't seen each other all together for years. Maybe next year you could be here too."
Daisy: "That would be nice. I can pass you to my Mam if you want?"
Me: "That's okay, I actually have to get going, my wife is looking after the kids for a minute and they're being crazy today. But you can call me whenever you like and I'll be there. I guess given everything that's happened we should be there for each other now."
Daisy: "Yeah, of course. I'd love to meet the rest of your family one day. I have a brother too who's dying to meet you. I'll call you next week and we can talk some more?"
Me: "I'd like that, see you soon. It was nice to meet you."
Daisy: "You too, see ya!"

I head back over to the party and stand with Hailee and Florence.

Me: How's the party going?
Florence: Yeah good, how did that go?
Hailee: Oh yeah you were calling your cousin, how was that?
Me: She seems so sweet, she's 20, looks exactly like me. It's kind of creepy actually.
Florence: Did you make plans to meet?
Me: Not yet but we're gonna chat again next week so hopefully I can get her over here, she has a brother.
Hailee: That's amazing! I'm so happy for you Y/N, you deserve it all. I love you.

We group hug as Scarlett comes in followed by Rose, with the biggest cake I've ever seen. Everyone sings happy birthday and grabs a slice.

Scarlett: Hi everyone, I just want to say a few things. When I first met Y/N, she was incredibly sweet, kind, selfless, thoughtful, even funny sometimes. All this time has passed, and she's had the media all over her, some amazing successes, won awards, reached levels of popularity I don't even think the Queen of England has reached. But still, even now, she still comes home every night, and is still the same sweet, kind, selfless, thoughtful, funny woman that I fell in love with. She still makes dinner, takes Rose to and from school, and lets me put my feet up even when she's had a hard day too. From day one she never judged, just took Rose on as her own, and quite literally saved my life over and over again. And I'd do it for her. Y/N, I love you, we all love you for you. Cheers everyone!

I kiss Scarlett, we head over to Perrie.

Perrie: I'm so proud of you, me little sister!
Me: Thanks pal, I'm proud of you. Ready for the rest of the tour?
Perrie: Yeah, just not ready for the last show. Are you gonna be there?
Me: Wouldn't miss it chicken. Love you.
