March 2029, Academy Awards Night...

Me: Ready to go, you guys?
Cosmo: Yeah, ready.
Rose: Just one second!
Jessica: I'm good to go.

Rose eventually emerges, wearing Y/N's Cartier bracelets.

Me: She'd be furious.
Rose: I was counting on it.

I hug her tightly and we make our way to the car, driving to the Oscar's venue.

As we arrive, we take a deep breath each and step out of the car, the paparazzi go crazy as we wander up the red carpet, posing where we need to, then head into the awards room.

The Honorary Award time comes, and Hailee and LG are presenting, which only means one thing.

Lady Gaga: The Academy Honorary Award has been given to some incredible actors and actresses over the years, many of which have been here to collect this award.
Hailee: This year's award goes to someone who's legacy can only be described as nothing short of wonderful. This award goes to a woman who could light up any dark room, a woman who's laugh was infectious, and who's courage has inspired millions all over the world.
Lady Gaga: Y/N Y/L/N-Johansson was not only a friend to all, but a truly incredible artist. Her acting style, truly unique. Her singing, mesmerising. Her smile, addictive. Her legacy lives on in her beautiful children; Cosmo, Rose and Jessica, and her truly remarkable wife, Scarlett. Not only was Y/N our best friend, but she was our hero.
Hailee: Tonight's legacy award goes to Y/N Y/L/N-Johansson, for her outstanding contribution to film. Here to collect the award, her wife Scarlett.

The audience stand and clap as Y/N picture comes up on the big screen behind the stage. I head up on the stage and take the away from LG, placing it on the plinth.

Me: Y/N actually wrote this speech herself, she knew she would be getting this award just before Christmas gone. I haven't had the courage to read it until now, but that's the way she'd want it to be. Okay, here goes.

I take a deep breath and smile at the kids, then start to read Y/N's words, written in her handwriting.

Me: I'd firstly like to thank the Academy for this award. I've done nothing, but this is incredibly special. I'd like to thank my manager Ollie and my team of truly amazing people. I'd like to thank every single person who's contributed to my journey to the film industry. I was just a kid that loves old movies, you know. I'd lastly like to thank my kids, my beautiful, beautiful kids. They've all been the strength I never had for my whole life. And to my wife, Scarlett. Thank you for taking a chance on a crazy little Geordie who had no idea what they were doing. The only thing I ever knew was my love for you. You're one of a kind, and I've had the pleasure of doing life with you every single day. Thank you for making me the proudest woman in the world. Finally, to everyone in this room, or watching worldwide. I'm dying, and we can't change that. But we still have the strength and time to change the world. We still have time to demonstrate kindness, to show compassion and love to each other. I love love, it's the thing that keeps you going even in the darkest of times, I've witnessed that first hand. So, on the chance that I'm no longer here when the time comes to read this speech, I'd like to thank every single person who's followed me, asked for a photo, watched my movies, sang my songs, or even just smiled in the street. Love is beautiful.

I stop the speech and the whole across erupts with cheers and clapping, most who knew Y/N in tears, like all of us grieving the loss of a truly remarkable human being.

A little later in the evening, LG and Hailee come back on stage to perform.

Lady Gaga: This song was written by Y/N, so this one's for you.

She starts playing the piano, and I instantly recognise the song.

Lady Gaga: "Honey, I thought you should know
That I'm in a hurry
I've got to move up north
But it's just temporary."

LG & Hailee: "When I look at you I see your beauty
Now my baby boy he's gonna lose me

But Heaven's not too far away
I know someday you'll visit
And I didn't think it'd go this way
Can I please have one more minute?"

Hailee: "No honey, I don't want to go
Please know that I have to
Look how the white dot has grown
I think it's time I go home

Yes, I can still hear your voice
Sounds just like it did
And I can still feel your hand
When it touches my skin."

Photos of Y/N with the whole family, her friends and photos of her laughing fill the stage.

LG & Hailee: "But Heaven's not too far away
I know someday you'll visit
And I didn't think it'd go this way
Can I please have one more minute?
I gave you life
Now you gotta watch it leave my eyes
But Heaven's not too far away
I know someday you'll visit."

Lady Gaga: "As death rattles my cage
I can hear their voices fading
Each breath getting harder
I can hear the tears coming from my daughter."

LG & Hailee: "And to her younger brother
He's thinking back when he was younger
When he had a healthy mother
Who asked him to take care of his other mother

And he's not really sure about life
Or that how could any of this be right
But I know my babies they will be fine
'Cause they can talk to me anytime

'Cause Heaven's not too far away
I know someday you'll visit
And I didn't think I'd go this way
Can I please have one more minute?

I gave you life
Now you gotta watch it leave my eyes
But Heaven's not too far away
No, I know someday you'll visit

Honey, I thought you should know
That I'm in a hurry
I've gotta move up north
But it's just temporary."

LG's voice cracks at the end, and they both erupt into tears. It's still fresh for her friends, they didn't see her everyday, so it's still a shock. I stand with the kids before anyone else and start clapping, Y/N would want the strength.

The next morning...

I place the flowers from the Academy down at Y/N's grave as the kids tidy up a little.

Me: I miss you always, honey.

Rose comes over and hugs my side and Cosmo does the same on the other side, while Jess holds Emily's hand.

Cosmo: Do you think she's happy, wherever she is?
Me: Yeah, I think she is.
Rose: I think she's making a new album, shooing people away while she's listening back so they don't hear it first.
Jessica: I think she's probably arguing with someone for making tea wrong.
Cosmo: Well I just think she's happy, because I think she knows we're going to be okay.
Me: Yeah, we're going to be just fine.
Perrie: Of course you are.

I turn to see Perrie and Axel stood behind us.

Perrie: I'm sorry we didn't come sooner. I just needed some time.
Me: Yeah, don't worry. She'd be happy you're here.
Perrie: Yeah.

She crouches down and places her hand on the grass, ducking her head into her knees.

Perrie: I miss you.
Cosmo: It's going to be okay, Auntie P. Mom told me to take care of everyone, so it's going to be okay.
Me: Yeah, everything's going to be fine.
