ROSE

"There you are!"

"What the—" I'm about to swing my elbow back and knock whoever decided to come to hug me from behind until I realize it's San. "San?"

"The one and only," he giggles and presses his cheek to my mine. "Are you having fun?"

"Yeah, are you?" I'm not sure why one minute, San is telling me he wants space, and the next, he's hugging me, but I'm sure alcohol was the primary factor in this. "San, do you want some water?"

"Hell no," he scoffs, "I came to recruit you."

"You what?" I pull back to look at him out of confusion, but he's already starting to bring me away with him.

"Come play a game with me," he demands with a whine and begins pulling me towards a circle of people on the far side of the room.

I look over my shoulder at Lisa and reach out my hand, silently begging for rescue because I already know that whatever comes next won't be good. Luckily, I catch her gaze just in time, and she follows close behind us toward the beer pong table.

"Rosie!" Anna yells from the other end. "You're going down."

Behind Anna and her brother-friend-person, I can see Seonghwa sitting back against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest and a pissed-off expression. But given that her mysterious and handsome friend from the states is her teammate for the game, it's no mystery as to why.

MINGI

"You're seriously not going to come?" Yunho pouts over FaceTime in a strong attempt to guilt trip me into going to some party with him. "Everyone is here!"

"You're just gonna be making out with your girlfriend the whole time anyways. What do you want me there for?" I pause when I remember a certain dance partner might also be going. "Is Anna there?"

"She just got here," Yunho chuckles and looks somewhere in the room where I'm assuming Anna is, "with Seonghwa."

"Send the address." I huff and hang up before going to my closet and searching for something to wear. "Why do people like partying so much? It's sticky and loud and not actually fun."

ANNA

"Alright, Annie, that's enough beer pong for now. Let's get you some water and find your friends." Johnny drags me from the table, and we make it halfway into the hallway before bumping into something.

"What the fuck are you doing?" A low voice grumbles, and when I look up, Mingi is somehow here, grabbing my arm and pulling me away from Johnny. "I'm taking you home."

"Stop there," Johnny keeps his grip on my shoulder to stop me from going further. "I don't know where you think with her. Annie, do you know this guy?"

I look between the two of them and nod once I realize that I do, in fact, know Mingi. "Oh... yeah! Oppa, Mingi is my dance partner. Mingi, why do I have to go home? I'm having fun!"

"And who the fuck are you supposed to be?" Mingi growls at Johnny.

"Mingi, don't be mean!" I push his shoulder and try not to giggle at how mad he looks. "Don't be mean to Johnny oppa."

Mingi leans down to look me in the eyes and leans into my ear. "I will be mean to any man that puts his hands on you. Now, let me take you home before I get angry and take it out on your friend."

"Let's go," Jennie pushes me from out of nowhere, away from Johnny and Mingi, towards Rose and Lisa and a couple of other girls. "Sit down while I get you some water. Where the hell did Seonghwa go?"

"Um, he said he was going to go smoke outside, I think?" I nod and sit without questioning as the boys follow behind us. "I'm so bad at beer pong."

"You think?" Rose laughs and hands me her water bottle. "You're lucky Johnny took so many of the drinks in the game, or you'd be throwing up by now."

"I know, right?" I smile and look up at Johnny, who is now standing over me and frowning. "My oppa is the best."

"Don't forget that," he chuckles and squats down to be level with my friends and me. "Jet lag is catching up with me, so I should probably head back to my hotel. Promise me you will not leave here without your friends, okay?"

"I promise." I nod and try to give him a hug, but it ends up being more of me hanging off of his shoulders. "Oppa, thank you for taking care of me."

"I always will." He promises before looking at Jennie. "You seem the soberest. Can I give you my number so you can call me if she needs anything? I'll keep my phone up so I can hear it."

"She's in good hands, but I have a little sister too, so I get it," Jennie agrees.

"You kids have fun," Johnny tells me with a wink before disappearing into the crowd.

"Okay, your brother is so fucking hot." June blurts as soon as he's gone, which makes everyone giggle.

"Wait, but like... he's not my brother," I clarify. "I just call him oppa because we grew up together. He taught me Korean."

"Oh?" June gasps and dramatically covers her mouth. "And you guys never hooked up? Why? Is he gay?"

"Not that I know of." I shake my head quickly.

"Her brother probably threatened to kill him if he tried anything," Rose giggles.

"I mean, her brother is dead now, so..." Sue's sentence trails off when everyone else looks at her. "That was bitchy, wasn't it? My bad, not funny."

"Too bad for him, he's not gonna have a chance," Mingi adds as he sits next to me. "So you know that guy from Chicago?"

I nod and look at him with confusion. "Why were you so mean to him? You don't even know him."

"As I said, he had his hands on you," Mingi grumbles. "Didn't need more reason than that."

"Damn, you sound like a possessive boyfriend," Yeosang chuckles as he takes his spot next to June.

"He wishes," Yunho jokes while sitting Sue in his lap, which makes everyone, including me, laugh. "So, are we playing or what?"

Lisa groans as Wooyoung enters the circle with a bottle of soju. "Please don't tell me we're playing--"

"Spin the bottle," he screams and sits between Rose and me. "Might as well cover our bases for a cliche college party."

"Seriously?" Yeosang raises an eyebrow but doesn't argue as Seonghwa reappears to sit on the other side of me. "Alright, whatever."

I know I'm drunk, but I already know this isn't going to end well.
