ANNA

22 missed calls from Mingi

"Um," I look at my phone in shock and concern before turning to Seonghwa, "will you excuse me for just a minute?"

"Yeah, of course," he smiles sweetly and takes a sip of his bubble tea. "Is everything okay?"

"I'm not really sure," I answer. He frowns, but I give him a quick kiss on the cheek before walking towards the back of the restaurant.

I dial Mingi's number and get him on the second ring. "Mingi? Is everything okay?"

SEONGHWA

I watch Anna walk away and try my hardest to keep the goofy grin off my face. Everything has been perfect since last night's party. Uncle Yoongi even let me spend the night at his house after the party.

Nothing steamy happened sadly, but the cuddles were still nice.

As soon as she turns the corner to make her call, her roommate comes into the tea shop pretty frantically and rushes over to me.

"Hey Rose," I stand and offer her my seat to let her rest. "Would you like to sit?"

She shakes her head and takes a couple of breaths. "Where's Anna?"

"She's on the phone," I tell her. "Is everything okay?"

Anna comes back before I can get an answer from Rose. "I'm sorry Seonghwa. Something came up and I need to go."

Rose looks as though she knows what Anna is talking about, but I still feel completely clueless in this conversation.

"Is it okay if I come with you?" I ask quickly as she puts on her mask.

"It's best you don't," Rose tells me before taking Anna's hand and hurrying her out of the cafe, leaving me stumped at the table with two half-empty bubble tea cups.

"What the hell just happened?" I sigh as both of the girls disappear down the block towards campus. I frown to myself and grab both of our cups to bag up before walking back to the dorms.

The spring sunshine feels great, but it's not quite as nice as when I had Anna's hand in mine on the way to the tea shop. I had been waiting for a day with nice weather to take her out, and now our date has ended as soon as it began.

성화: Hope everything's okay 🥺 Maybe we can get dinner later?

I stuff my phone back into my pocket just as I hear someone calling my name. I look over my shoulder and find Wooyoung trudging over to me, the usual spring in his step nowhere to be found.

"Hey Wooyoung," I slow my pace to give him the opportunity to catch up with me. "You look exhausted."

"I haven't gotten much sleep the past couple of nights," he admits tiredly. "Between midterms and stuff I've been... distracted."

"Is it midterms or is it noona?" I question, which only makes his shoulders deflate further. "You'll find someone else."

"I don't think so," he confesses, "I can't remember a time that I wasn't in love with her. Even since we were kids, she's always been the one I pictured myself with when I was grown."
