"It's nice to have you back in class, Anna," Mr. Jung—or Hoseok, as he told me to call him—tells me after hip hop.
"Thanks, I've missed dancing," I tell him.
"I need to ask you for a little help if that's alright." He tilts his head away from the door to signal for me to stay behind.
Yunho and Jongho both walk over to us with matching curious faces. "Dad?"
"Jin is helping Kihyun plan a surprise for Yoongi's birthday," Hoseok explains.
"Good luck with that," Jongho scoffs. "Uncle Yoongi hates surprises."
"He might like this one," Hoseok says with a knowing smile. "Kihyun is planning to propose."
Yunho and I cover our gaping mouths and fight the urge to squeal with excitement. "Oh my god, yes! How can I help?"
"Well, they're booking a restaurant for the evening, and we need you to get Yoongi there without him suspecting anything."
"Okay, yeah, I'll figure something out," I agree eagerly. "Oh my god, this is so exciting!"
"Just tell him you want him to come to dinner with your new boyfriend," Yunho suggests.
I fight the urge to glare at that sweet puppy face in front of his own father, but the damage is done with Hoseok says, "perfect! Yoongi loves Seonghwa already, and that'll put him in a good mood before the surprise."
I clench my fists at my sides at the mention of Seonghwa, but I don't get a chance to argue before I'm being escorted out by the Jung family while my new godfather bubbles with excitement.
SAN
"Sannieeeee"
"Wooyoung?" I climb out of bed and walk over to the door, half-convinced that I'm dreaming when I see the blonde standing in the hallway. "What are you doing here?"
"Oh, are you—..." he bites his lip awkwardly when he notices my disheveled state, "is Rose here?"
"No," I force myself to swallow back the pain in my chest at the reminder of her. "You didn't answer my question."
"Can I come in?" He asks while pulling his standard puppy dog eyes.
I roll my eyes and push the door open for him, and he walks inside.
"Your room is so much cleaner than me and Yeosang's," he notes.
"Yunho stays at Sue's most nights," I explain.
"Makes sense." Wooyoung nods absentmindedly, not looking anywhere in particular.
"Wooyoung, we haven't talked since—"
"—I know, and I'm sorry, but that's partially your fault too." He sighs and crosses his arms across his chest. "Look, I miss my best friend."
"I miss you too," I admit. "But that doesn't change what happened."
"I'm willing to look past it," Wooyoung walks over to where I'm leaning against my desk. "Can't we just start over or something? You can't blame me for what happened with Yeji noona, and Seonghwa hates himself for it. He's a wreck because Anna won't talk to him. We have all grown up since then."
"You really are an idiot if you think it's that simple," I scoff and lean away from him. "Yeji wasn't the only one who got hurt in the process, and you know that."
