"Oh dear," I say the moment I step into my dorm.

Rose's normally stone cold sister is crying on her shoulder while San attempts to give her a back hug. I study the situation for a while, trying to figure out what to do with myself.

Jennie lifts her head up and sniffles with her eyes full of tears. "Well, don't just stand there. I need all of the hugs I can get right now."

I drop my bag at the door and rush over to join the group hug, and San gives me a shy smile. "We're not allowed to let go, so you better get comfortable."

I find a free space between Jennie and Rose and latch onto them. "What—"

"—men are trash," Jennie cuts me off before I can ask what happened, but I think I can put the pieces together pretty easily.

"Ouch," San giggles.

"Except you, San," Jennie clarifies. "You give good hugs."

"Thanks Jennie noona," he says sweetly. "Do you want to go get some ice cream?"

"No, I want to get hammered," she grumbles. "We're going out tonight. I'm going to look really hot and Kai's going to eat his heart out and I'm going to tell him where he can shove it."

"That's the spirit," Rose cheers as she wipes a stray tear from her sister's eye.

"I don't mind driving," San offers.

Someone knocks on the door, but when Jennie refuses to let anyone escape the group hug, I shout. "Come in!"

The door pushes open and reveals none other than Mingi standing in the doorway with my jacket in his hands.

"Hey Anna, you forgot this in my car—" He freezes when he notices all of us piled up on the bed, but his eyes aren't on me at all.

They're dark and threatening and they're looking directly at San.

WOOYOUNG

"Hey, it's EJ—"

"Still not answering?" Yeosang asks, and I shake my head. "Maybe give her a little space? She's probably really upset after seeing that hickey this morning."

"I'm an idiot," I groan.

"Yeah, but she knew that before," he chuckles. "EJ noona doesn't seem like the type to change her mind easily. If she liked you before this, she will still like you after you make mistakes."

"What if she decides I'm too immature? I've been trying so hard to show her that I'm not a kid and then I go and do some stupid shit like this anyways." I don't want to consider the idea that I've completely blown my chances with the girl I've been in love with since I was 14.

"You've proven yourself once," Yeosang counters. "You can do it again."

I shake my head, knowing EJ well enough to know that she doesn't need space. "I need to find her. She doesn't need space, she needs an apology."

"Okay, so let's find her." Yeosang pulls out his phone and dials someone up. "Hey babe, I need a favor... have you talked to your sister today?... well, it sounds like she had a bad morning, and Wooyoung really needs to talk to her... can you send me the address?... you're the best... yeah, I'll see you after class."

"Babe?" I look at him with shock written all over my face. "You and June? Since when?"

"Since she spilled a drink on me at her party and offered to help clean me up." Yeosang punctuates the last few words with a wink thank makes me want to vomit. "What? You're the only one that gets to hookup with one of the Kim sisters?"

"Touché," I laugh. "So did June have any information?"

"She said that she's probably here." He hold up his phone to show me the address. "Let's go check it out."

ANNA

"What are you doing in this dorm? Except for causing problems." San hisses at Mingi and jumps up from the bed to challenge him at the doorway. Despite the height difference, San doesn't look intimidated in the slightest.

"Don't be like that," Mingi says with a deep sigh. "I'm just returning her sweatshirt."

"And why the fuck do you have it in the first place?" San snatches the fabric out of his hands and glares at him. "I ought to beat the shit out of you."

"San!" I scramble over to the two boys and push them apart. "That's unnecessary! You don't have a right to talk to him like that."

"Oh, but I do," San replies coldly, "and Mingi knows it too."

"Knock it off, man," Mingi threatens in a low voice.

"You wanted a fresh start in college? Well, you don't get to have one with her." San challenges hi. "You don't deserve a second chance, and you know I'm right."

I look up at Mingi, who has yet to retaliate. "What is he talking about?"

"It doesn't concern you," he snaps.

"Get out of here before I tell her everything," San threatens, and Mingi shrinks.

"Bye Anna," he mumbles before walking down the hallway.

San shuts the door behind him and groans as he closes it. His jaw is clenched and his breathing is labored. "I know you have to be around him for dance, but I am begging you, do not befriend him. If there is one person in that group to stay away from, it's Mingi."

"But why?" I stare back at him in amazement.

He sighs and puts his hands in his back pockets. "Trust me, I wish so badly that I could tell you."
