"Rose, we're supposed to be buying bedding and shower caddies, not trying on dresses." I glare playfully at my roommate, but she just fires back a similar look, which makes both of us giggle.

"Come on, Anna!" Rose pulls a bright blue maxi dress off one of the racks in the boutique and holds it up for me to try on. "We have to find outfits for the party on Friday."

"What party? Besides, that's not until the end of the week," I argue, but she just frowns and puts the dress back. She pulls a white gauzy dress with a crochet bodice next, but she quickly puts it back when she sees me scrunching my nose at it.

"It's always good to plan ahead." Rose skips (and I do mean 'skips') to the back of the store, leaving San and I to follow her. San has been playing some game on his phone while Rose rummages through the racks, leaving me to half-heartedly look through the clothes with her.

It's not that I have anything against shopping, I just seldom wear anything besides workout pants and tee shirts. Still, when I got to Seoul, I knew a wardrobe update might be in order. Most people here are a little more fashionable than what I was used to at Stanford, and I really want fit in with my new classmates. Maybe I could benefit from Rose's shopping advice.

"Fine," I sigh in resignation. "I need some new clothes anyway. Just no neon colors."

With her guidelines in place, Rose claps excitedly and searches the store for outfit options for me.

"You've unleashed a monster," San chuckles as he watches her in amusement.

"I'm already beginning to regret that decision, trust me," I joke and San shakes his head, a smile still lingering on his face.

"I'll be in the game store." He gives me a nod goodbye and turns left out of the store. With just me and Rose in the store with the sales people, I figure my time would be best spent looking at the clothes to see what I might like.

"How do you feel about something form-fitting?" Rose asks, and before I can answer, she rushes up to me and holds up a navy blue dress with a deep V-neck and beading along the bodice. "And you should know that question was rhetorical, because you have to try this dress on!"

"I was going to say I don't mind form-fitting, gosh." I fake-huff at her as I walk to the dressing rooms with the dress in hand.

"I'm going to find some more things for you to try on," Rose calls over the curtain that was concealing me from the rest of the store as I changed.

"Okay," I shimmied out of my shorts and pulled the dress on, trying my best not to snag my braid in the process. Once the dress was on, I stepped out from behind the curtain to show Rose. "What do you think?"
