Across The Lines

"HUH?" I was shaken by those words. "WHAT?"

"Well sorry I didn't tell you earlier, I knew about that when we started the research. It was a surprise you know."

"I HATE THOSE SURPRISES OF YOURS!"

"Oh, I'm sure you love 'em." After some time, when I came back into my mind, a thought struck my mind. "BUT AKIRA'S BIRTHDAY IS COMING, WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE BEFORE THAT!"

"Oh, you think?" Well of course you couldn't have left before HIS BIRTHDAY! "Originally we would have left a day before his day, but I got it postponed. The gifts won't go to waste, don't worry!"

"We can give him the gifts even after we came back, duh." I said, having a reluctant look on my face, I did not want to go for some reason. "Hey, don't gimme that look, you have no excuses left."

"Well I can try this last one"

"Go ahead, it won't work." It was like a battlefield. We were both standing right opposite to each other, pointing the gunslinger right at each other's heads.

*Devil's Gonna Come by Raphael Lake & Royal Baggs starts playing in the background* the scenery was intense, the sun was setting, and we were standing in the middle of the desert, right in front of each other. The questionnaire shootout duel was about to start. "3...2...1, LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!" The narrator exclaimed.

I shot the first shot, "If we have to leave after Akira's birthday, we won't have time to pack our bags for the trip."

"We can do it a few days prior to his birthday" A MISS.

"I cannot go on a trip that long, I'm sick for the past few days." I didn't have many bullets left, but I shot another one. A HUGE MISS, IT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE SKY. "A blatant lie. You just said that you are sick for the PAST FEW DAYS, but you were roaming around the neighbourhood yesterday afternoon. And you also went shopping with me and Anli the day before, you would have gone for a straight no if you were sick. Also, you worked with me for the research, you wouldn't have been there if you were sick. Pathetic." A BULLSEYE, IT WENT STRAIGHT FOR THE HEART. I was falling straight to the ground as I went for the last shot. "Will...you...go... WITHOUT AKIRA AND ANLI? DON'T YOU THINK THEY'LL FEEL BAD?" A CRITICAL HIT! K.O!

You were speechless, completely out of words. "See now I'll have to do something about THAT."

"Right, maybe we could celebrate Akira's birthday there!" It was an idea straight out of a genius's mind. "So I did not have to postpone it after all, and now I'll have to prepone it now, what in the embarrassment." You muttered. "Ha-ha yeah, but it would be so fun!" You called to prepone it again in front of me and we told Anli about the trip but you refused to inform Akira to keep it a surprise.

5 Days Left

"We don't have much time left for the trip, let's pack our bags today!" You said, excited. "Says the girl who did not tell Akira to keep it a secret. WHEN WILL HE PACK HIS THINGS?"

"We don't talk about that, he will do it at the last minute, and he will have to."

"SCARY!" We packed our things and planned to give Akira the gifts when we reach the hotel. "Eh, I overheard you guys." GOROU SENPAI OVERHEARD EVERYTHING WE SAID. "SINCE JUST WHEN WERE YOU STANDING THERE?" I asked, freaked out. "Just half an hour I guess."

"HEH?"

"You guys along with Akira are going on a trip to Mount Fuji a day before his birthday, planning to gift him something on his birthday night." He knew all of it. "You can come along too!" You said without even knowing Gorou Senpai, I guess you just noticed that he's close to me, trying to make me happy. Maybe I'm thinking too much but what does it take to be in the illusion of being happy about something? Anyone would love to be in it if they would have been as lonely as me. There is a lot of difference between what I feel and what I show.  Between my dream and my future. You only stay in one. Like the moon, a part of me is always hidden. I'll always love you across the lines.
